I cant help but think if this trade happens Kadri would be coming our way. Leafs organization seems to be fed up with him. - vancity787
Maybe management is just setting up leaf nation for the trade. If Kadri's value is diminished in the eyes of the faithful then Burke's off the hook. Their criticism of Kadri seemed weird. Maybe it's all part of the plan. |

Reimer and Scrivens are more overpriced backups. - Scooby_Doo
Reimer= $1.8 million per season for 2 more years
Scrivens= $0.6 million per season for 2 more years
Total: $2.4 million over 2 years
Luongo= $5.3 million per season for 10 more years

Are you drunk?
Toronto doesn't want Robchoko ,at least most fans don't.Lupul? as someone already said, they could get more value than an overpriced aging choker, though I do admire your effort at creating a market for Luongo |

Kadri would be Hodgson 2.0 for you guys: not necessarily in practice, but in perception. And there's no way he's cracking your top 2 lines and that's the only place he's ever going to excel (if at all). |

the trade would not be lu for komi, connolly or lombardi. the trade would be for something along the lines of lu for bozak + kadri (or other younger player with still potention) + picks + cap dump and that is where those three guys come in |

Great is relative....his numbers in Nashville are based on the fact that he was a 20 year old rookie. They dont represent the whole picture. He held his own and was not a reliability. Unfortunately, he got stuck on a Toronto team that basically stunk in all aspects of the game.... - chompsey
Freudian slip?
The fact that Toronto stunk in all aspects of the game should have given the guy an opportunity to earn more ice time. Yes, Komi and Schenn were given more icetime than they deserved (or more starts, really, as both got very limited ice time) but Franson couldn't seize the opportunity.
He's scary in his own end. |

I'd be happy with that, Bozak would help fill a hole in our lineup and Kadri for all his faults would benefit in our system (if he's really wanting to reach his potential) and stockpiling mid-to-low picks would help us possibly make another bigger deal down the line or else stock up on prospects. |

I could see him being a toss in type of player, but I really doubt Gillis builds a trade around a player who is known to have poor work ethic and a bit of an attitude.
Kadri will get you Lu's stick and blocker, but the pot needs to be a whole lot sweeter to get the rest of him.

This, and a healthy dose of hate from every coach who's ever had a mic in front of him. Jury's not out on Carlyle, but Kadri's gotta be doing something to right piss off the coaches he's worked with. |

Poor work ethic is inaccurate.
Attitude is probably more accurate as ego.
From what I've heard, every single thing that has been done to the guy has been to take him down a peg.
Which makes sense when you look at everything Leafs management has said. |

Ian you need to accept that no matter how much you bang the drum, vancouver is NOT dealing from a position of strength.
These past few months have made that abundantly clear.
Its not a bidding war for LU. Its gillis trying to unload him.
He can wisely play the 'we'll happily keep him' card. But we all know he doesnt want the circus that will inevitably come with it.
Luongo is still elite imo. But that contract length is an abortion.
Imo, gillis takes back some real salary, and ull get a good return along with it. otherwise it'll be a sale |

It would be more of a committee(maybe 48-34 assuming a full season) than a backup role. |
