Yes Vancouver is quite the ghost town. No body cares about hockey here and there's no media........ We have the most pessimistic media there properly is. If Luongo could flourish here Toronto wouldn't be that much different.

These guys are competitors and want to PLAY. If Schneider is going to get the lions share of the games, you can bet your ass that Lu would want to go and PLAY somewhere else, especially since it's most likely that Lu would ride the pine for the playoffs.

I believe, if Lu plays in Vancouver he gets 30-35 starts. He is not going to be one of those 10 start backups. He will be playing. Maybe not as much as he would like, but he will play.

I would rather play on a winner and start 30-35 times then get peppered each night and be golfing in April.

Hmmmm - I started to rattle off an answer, and then realized maybe you are right.

From the Leafs' perspective, it probably doesn't make a difference.

It's just something for the Canucks to worry about. They may be more reluctant to trade within the conference now, for fear that 6 years down the road, Luongo's new team starts putting pressure on him to retire, just to tie up Canuck cap space.

What are you talking about? If the Leafs (or any team, for that matter) would be able to trade for Luongo, without the worry of a crippling contract for several years while Luongo is on a beach enjoying his millions, they’d be willing to give up more for him, obviously.

LOL. Good point. Winning a lot of regular season games or not, playing for the Canucks doesn’t require very much self respect either way. Playing with the likes of Burrows and Lapierre alone, I’d be pretty embarrassed of. Not to mention Kesler and the Sedins diving show.
