Regarding Lupul, it depends on his contract demands, if he's asking for more than Burke is willing to give him then he isn't really worth much to the Leafs since he'd play out a shortened season(assuming there is one) and then become a UFA. I'm not really keep up with the Lupul negotiations, so I'm not sure what the buzz is there. And who's to say that the Leafs will only be getting Luongo back? It's very possible that the Canucks might add in a draft pick or prospect/young player.

Again, no rational Canuck fan is thinking that. IMO something like Franson + a pick and/or prospect is fair for both sides. Or perhaps a package involving Franson and Bozak since we could use a third line center.

Queue the Leafs fan who replies to this with "Luongo has zero/negative trade value! We'll give you Komisarek, Connolly and a 5th!"

makes me laugh every time I here komi/Connolly/Lombardi for lu. If the only thing van can get is a salary dump they can waive Lu. If one of those guys is included the leafs will have to give up a significant player

The deal will be luongo to tor for bozak, Ashton, and Franson/Percy/Finn. Fair deal for both sides. And leaf fans will once again show their talent. They will all have their foot in their mouths and their head up their ass at the same time.
