Schneider is better younger and cheaper and does not have a long contract. Not hard to figure out.

Leaf fans have said it many times we gon't need 9 million for a goalie.

he had to trade to get the picks .... i guess that didn't take any sly GMing
- The_Vark

Actually that's not entirely true, we had a top three pick already. Burkes brilliance was in acquiring that second top three pick. Not choosing the twins. That's where the man shines, trades!

Schneider has a very quick glove hand , always square to the puck ,seldom out of position . He seldom gets rattled.

Canucks fans and Management have seen enough of him to realize he is the real deal. He stoned the Bruins and Hawks last year in some of the most important games.

70 games is only 70 games but he has impressed everyone.If a forward has scored 45 goals after 70 games would you be asking how do you know he will amount to anything. Schneider has showed in his 70 games he is ready to be a number 1.

Gillis and Co groomed him on the Moose for the NHL.They had seen enough of the kid down there and knew he was ready. They seen him back up Lu for a year and decided they wanted to see how he handles being the top dog .He passed the test .

You can't take away the fact that he has played only 70 games . All NHL stars have their first 70 games . Next year we will be talking ,he will have his first 120 games , and the following year his first 170 games.

Just like Evander Kane and Jamie Benn, when a team sees a body of work, albeit short , sometimes you are certain you will take a chance on that player for years to come.

what your saying makes sense but a lot of nucks fans are talking like he's in the top 5 goalies in the nhl witch is not true at this point

PLayoff wins:

Luongo = 32
Schneider = 1

Schneider is obviously more qualified to take them further in the playoffs.

Or I could just post playoff winning percentage, which combines the two:

Luongo = .525
Schneider = .333

Reimer, two years younger than Schneider, has played 3 more games and has produced only 1 less point in the standings with a much crappier team in front of him. Have to wonder how he'd do playing behind a quality team like the Cansuck.

Yeah, he'll steal Schneider's job while Luongo's groin goes POP! within the first 10 games.

They'd just waste it with another Nash situation.
