I caught this late. I'm damn proud that you'd think of me and add an extra just for me.

Fer Fack sakes........ Luongo rumors again........ really?

I feel like Bill Murray in groundhog day..........

At least Mike as usual wrote a nice balanced blog as opposed to the hot garbage the nucks blogger spewed all over the place. But then again, I wouldn't expect anything less

No, let's most definitely get carried away after 10 games. Rielly was the best player in the draft.

Except for Yakupov but he doesn't count because he's Russian.

Even Frenchy agrees.

- Two_For_Truth

Burke doesn't like Russians. Burke says he would have taken the Canadian player first overall. It's not a hard line to follow, unless you're the kind of guy who thinks you should take a 3rd liner in the top-10.

So would he have taken Rielly with the 1st overall pick, or gone with Ryan Murray, who was rated higher?

You heard what Burke said....

But I think his argument is had Rielly played all year. He was rated pretty close to Murray and only played 18 games.

Who seems to be doing better right now?

Better how? That's a wide open question.

Both great young players! If you simply look at the numbers Rielly is, but it's always been widely publicized (to the best of my limited knowledge) that Rielly is a better offensive player but Murray has a better overall game.

Cody Ceci is doing really well, Mathew Dumba's playing well, Derrick Pouliot's playing well, Jacob Trouba's playing well, Slater Koekkoek's playing well, Olli Maatta's playing well, Griffin Reinhart's playing well, etc etc etc. Great group of young defensemen!

I'm more than happy with the pick. Reilly is showing the elite puck skills he was drafted for, all the while showing more ability away rom the puck than he was said to have.

Couldn't be more pleased.

If he's not rushed, he should be a great pick!

The only type of deal that makes sense for Toronto or any other perspective interested team is to move a contract or contracts in exchange to make the financial hit slightly more equal, which in the Leafs current state would mean players like Tim Connolly, Matthew Lombardi or Mike Komisarek, not a young and inexpensive commodity like Reimer.
