There isn't an agent or a businessman who negotiates ANYTHING based upon a possible other scenario. You always negotiate based upon the facts/current agreements.
- CaptainBlackhawk

if they loose a season its going to be more than the 12% haircut their going to take.........as far as im concerned i was with the players up untill today....im sure the guys not making the multi million dollar contracts want to goto work ASAP. 50% is more than fair. Now if they miss 6/7 games it will be more than the 12% hair cut which is what is so (frank)ing stupid about this.

What?

Why do you think so many of them rushed to sign these contracts?

It was precisely because of possible other scenarios.

- Atomic Wedgie

Let me rephrase what I said...

These agents negotiated based upon the current agreement and the owners knew what that agreement was the potential for a "change". They still chose to enter into those contractual agreements.

Tough talk continues. Don't get sucked into "negotiation speak." Its all a process and what is said publicly is said for specific reasons

In other words - Don't believe what the Commish is telling all of us publicly....

I believe Bettman on this, because they were only in there for an hour. If there was anything real they would have negotiated for much longer.

I am now 100% on the owners side. What other business offers its employees 50% of their profit. This is absolute ridiculousness.

Forget some ridiculous eklund spin to keep us comin back. It was clear from his (bettmans) body language that things went very badly.

what i dont get is that if these idiots miss more than 8 games they loose 12% anyways this year.....why prolong it....50% keep everything else the same...get the deal done and the cap will be where it is now next year..........

In the end they will beg for the 50%

Hey ! would you like to cut my grass ? Ill give you 20$ for 100 feet of grass to cut.

Sign here and there...

Once you have signed..

well.. looks like that 20$ .. was a lie.. it's 15$ instead. Do we still have a deal ?

That's the core issue here.

Doubt it will make a difference , but I want to try and start a TWITTER REVOLT!!!!

Everyone on here should unfollow any players that have been following on twitter and tell your friends to do the same and have them tell their friends as well

Like I said, I doubt it will make a difference, but at least it might be a way to have our voices heard a little!!

Last round of the baseball playoffs was as good as sports gets. This round not as much, but the NLDS should be a long one.

The NHL is a joke, move on and cancel the league for good. No one in this country gives a crap about hockey, there is no market for it and obviously the league doesn't like to make money so screw it let the players go to Europe to play. AHL is another joke, my kid brother could star on one of those teams.

Hockey in general should be canceled in the States.
