In both games, I'd say. I remember reading that he struggled during the limited games he got into late last year. Not the case at all in the first couple of games this season.

Nelson is a big boy, and he's gonna get bigger (he's still a baby). I thought he looked great last night!!

DIdnt see friday, but on saturday i thought Ulstrom and Nelson were the best forwards by far. Nino still needs work on his first step......and Kabanov didnt really do much

I agree...I thought Persson and Sundstrom had some good shifts. Other times they got pinned in their zone a bit. But with as good as the team looked in the opening couple of games, it was easy to forget that Persson only had 12 games in the AHL last year, and Sundstrom is in his first season of N. American hockey. They're not bad, and they're only going to get better.

[quote=Spartiarti]great start at the bridge. we rarely talk about him but Kabonov could be huge draft move by Snow. A 1st round talent that went in later round to us.

This Lockout actually favors the isles if you think about it. All our prospects are back in juniors and Nino is playing AHL where he should be, getting more experience.

I've read this same post from many people on here and it makes zero sense to me? Nino should have/would have been in the AHL regardless and those prospects should be in junior. How does a lock out favor the Isles? Does it force them into not making stupid decisions with their prospects?

the competition is better.....

It doesn't. How can it? Stupidest comments I've seen in the last few hours(I do frequent an Islander board). How can anyone say that? It's the convoluted thinking of the new age Isles fan that thinks this is a positive. More or less saying there is nothing the team can (frank) up while there is no hockey being played. Reality. Disgusting that anyone would think this is a positive for the team and some how turn it into a positive for prospects. You guys are just making myself and others look like geniuses. Go figure

no one thinks its GOOD for the team/league....its good for the individual players in terms of competition and talent which wouldnt have been on the AHL ice had there been no lockout as opposed to the competition and talent which IS on the AHL ice because there is a lockout.

come on!!! NO ONE thinks a lockout is good for the team...its good for the players development!!

Because the Islanders are not capable of making sound management decisions as far as their prospects are concerned. You do know that is more or less what you are saying?

Lets not start changing the text of the posts from before, what do you say? Lets follow the original topic and what was meant by the other people that posted. Not what you posted. Lets not make believe you know what they meant. I understand what was meant with the other posts. Nobody said the lockout was good for the league. Quite a few people on here said the lockout was good for the Islanders due to their prospects playing in the AHL who should've been there already. So back to my other post when I said that by saying that you are more or less saying the lockout forced Snow to make sound management decisions as far as his prospects are concerned. And yes before you say anything I used 4 different varaiations of "say/said" in the same sentence.

As I have stated, since he was drafted, Cizikas is a leader. He may be the heart of this team in a year or two..

no has nothing to do with management...the fact that players equivalent to hamonic ullstrom, cizikas IE guys who would be playing in the NHL without a lockout, are now playing in the AHL, the competition for the prospects is greater...THAT is what im saying

lets focus on what you want to focus on (the bold):

EVERYONE (but you) understands that the level of competition ACROSS the AHL has increased simply because SOME of the players in the NHL are not playing in the AHL, therefore INCREASING the TALENT POOL. therefore guys like NINO, who were going to be in the AHL REGARDLESS of a lockout or not, NOW have the ability to play with SOME players for the NHL and therefore he gets to be a lot of a FASTER game, THEREFORE HELPING THE PLAYERS DEVELOPMENT...bc of the opposition and leadership that has been provided to the AHL BECAUSE of the lockout.
