WTF? You seriously got detentions for speaking English in school? That has to be the most ridiculous thing I've heard this week.

yes. but like i said, this wasn't a political anti-English thing. it was a private school, 90% Anglo, but you were sent there to master your French skills.

well I get what they were trying to do. I send my kid to the same school becasue it's a good school and he speaks french anyway so not a big deal.

I think for a lot of the students that didn't come from francophone families though, it just made them resent it more outside of school.

I can only imagine the (frank)ing outrage if they started handing out detentions in Brampton when the brown kids speak Punjabi in an English school.

The bell would ring at 3:30 for dismissal, and the 3 white kids would get to go home and the rest of the school would be stuck there for another hour.

Mine is great at being unable to decide what to have for dinner, and also great and deciding what I suggest is not what she wants to eat.

I like the magic way better to be honest. if she were to actually load the dishwasher she would manage to completely fill it up with two plates, three cups and 4 forks. then put it on the 4 hour sterilization cycle.
