I'm a Giants fan but far from a Jets hater. They make so many baffling moves though. Tebow seemed like one of those publicity moves that a lower-tier team that needs to get asses in seats/sell jerseys would make. Not something the Jets needed. Waste of draft picks. It's mind boggling to watch Sanchez start to drive down the field, only to have Tebow come in for a play and totally throw off his rhythm.
Binder Joe is notorious, to me anyway, for waiting just too long to make a change. Pitcher starting to slow down and get shelled in the 5th? Sure, he'll take him out in the 6th after he lets up 2-3 runs. It's not all on A-Rod, nobody is hitting period...save for Jeter and Martin a little. Tex, Grando, and Ichiro need to all start contributing offensively before I'm done typing this post. The difference between them and K-Rod is that they have all been at least somewhat productive recently. He hasn't done jack lately. No homers in his last 70-something at-bats and only 1 XBH in a similar span. If he wants to keep him in the lineup, at least play him over Chavo at 3rd...not as the DH when you have Ibanez on the bench. - eichiefs9
I think Tebow is a great guy and I'm not a big Sanchez fan but I would not have brought Tebow in. There were other holes to fill on the Jets. No question other guys need to hit but A-Rod has been brutal. These short series are killers. I know the Yankees cannot bench 3 or 4 guys but I would at least switch the lineup around. I do not like sicking with things that are not working in a short series. Look at this Ibanez pinch hits for A-Rod and homerun. |

A-Rod's at-bats are like tiny little Jets games.
I'd swap him out for Ibanez at DH if the Yanks are still down for his next at bat - eichiefs9

Ibanez just had about 1200 ft worth of hits in 3 at bats. Now if only Oakland could buy a hit. |

He's got more homers in his last two at bats than A-Rod in his last 70+ |

And Ibanez is 50 years old. This is what happens when managers are not afraid to make gutsy moves. Hint Hint Captain Jack. |

Are you saying we should we sign some more 40+ guys?
Kidding, I still don't think Girardi's move was that gutsy, it needed to be done. Regardless of that though, it was definitely the right move! |

You guys see Tavares' goal from Streit (IPB links to the highlights from the game...Tavares had 2g and 1a, though one goal was an EN)? I forgot how low-key so many of Tavares' goals are...they almost look like lucky circumstances sometimes, but I guess you don't have to constantly dazzle with flashiness when you're thinking two steps ahead and always in the right spot. |

Tavares is King on this team and therefore will always play that way no matter what league he is in. That being said I promise more Tavares coverage if I am elected.

Sure I can. He went out there not ready to fight. He thought he was going to skate around like he was in ice capades and the refs wouldn't let it happen. He looked like a fool. I'll call it both ways when it's warranted in this instance it's not. - Cptmjl
I don't think he expected the first salvo so soon and to be a direct hit. I was watching on TV. Saw the replay 100 times. Now you're just critiquing his fighting...does it ever end? You still wouldn't have the ba**s to step up to a guy that makes you look like a garden gnome in comparison. |

As a guy who bashes DP all the time because of various reasons, Iwill say playing goaltender for 5 years in leagues I sure as hell would have stepped up to Johnson. Problem was there was no reasonf or DP to do that. In a time where the Islanders were thin at goalie your "number 1" goalie thought it was a great time to fight. He did got murdered was laughed at and still is till this day. He is in Germany now and is one save away from being injured again. Let him go dude he is done!! The savior is not coming back and will never EVER help this team.
I know this hurts my campaign but needs to be said.

Heres the bottom line..........Rickys job is to stop the puck. Its not to score, assist, or fight. There was no reason with his injury history to initiate a fight with Johnson after Cooke ran him. His job is to put the team first, and time after time, Ricky does what Ricky wants. Its another example of his selfishness, and immaturity. How do you like a guy who has proven nothing, won nothing, yet acts like he's among the elite of the NHL? Quite frankly, as a fan, he's an embaressment!
My original response to you... |
