the second goal was bad. other than that, not much chance on any of them. Tarasenko is very good.

all in all though, i don't really like the hockey being played.

Seems pretty cheap and undisciplined. Lots of uncalled trips and hooks.

Looks like CSKA needs at least 5 goals to win. Hmmmmm... sounds familiar.

I was really hoping Bryzgalov would come up big today. More fuel for the fire.

He's played two games in two weeks. It's not like he's on top of his game. He's certainly not taking advantage of the opportunities. If the team's winning then you go in and they lose and you're giving up a handful of goals each time you're not going to get to play. I think he may have made a bad decision on what team to go to. They have a really good number one.

It's apparent CSKA players are playing poorly in front of Bryzgalov. Soft down low, lack of shot blocking, forwards not committing in the defensive zone... yada, yada, yada...

Amazingly NHL hockey isn't being played, yet Flyers players continue to drop like flies with injuries. I didn't think they had it in them.

Fair enough, he really hasn't had any opportunity to get in a rhythm. I was just hoping to see some good news for the guy. Either way, I don't care if he gives up a million goals in the K, as long as he can get things going in the O&B once the NHL gets underway.

Whenever that is

is it me or does it seem that less defensemen have gone over/back to Europe to play? Or are we just not hearing about them?

Tom Sestito will play in the UK's Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) for the Sheffield Steelers during the lockout. Among his teammates are Scottish-born former Flyers draftee Colin Shields, former NHLer Drew Fata, and former Calgary/Anaheim prospect Cory Pecker. The EIHL has a lot of fighting in it. The big forward should also score quite a few goals in that league.

Way too early to be bashing the goalie. But then again, it is Philly.

Amazing job covering the news around the leagues Bill. It's must be 10 times the amount of work due to the lockout. Very much appreciated.

Well only because NHL players are spread out but he does keep an eye on the leagues in Europe.

Surprised to see Akeson get sent to the ECHL, he was the leading scorer as a rookie last season but as i feared he probably doesn't fit with Murray's style.

We'll have to see what Bill thinks about those moves tomorrow. But I would speculate that it has a lot to do with the extra players from the Flyers that are down in the AHL due to the lockout. More so then not fitting in with Murray's style. He's a scoring line player, and he was probably pushed out because of that to the ECHL. Otherwise he'd probably still be a Phantom. That's my guess at least.
