Don't you know Colin? A 2012 flames blogger is solely to blame for the quality of players Calgary has had for the last 40 years. I'm surprised that you're surprised by this.
- B_def

I think he's just upset that I didnt say the Habs players were Gods compared to those from the Flames.

Well, 100 years worth of players to pick from > 40 years worth of players to pick from.
Apples to oranges.

Go look at your list again. Its sad that, for 40 years, Flames management has not been able to bring in a better crop of centers outside of a span in the late 80s.

Look at the Habs over the past 20 years, its even sadder no? Jesus, try to be objective.

And for the record, YOU brought up the Habs, I never did. This was simply about the incompetence of Flames management. Imagine Iggy's numbers with a real top line center instead of Jokinen/Conroy

Perhaps you should have tried to be more objective yourself, rather than entering a Flames blog with "This is sad". Might enlicit a better response.

Listen, theres no need to continue with this. I've already expressed my opinion on the matter and so have you.

My opinion on the matter was that its a sad list. what's not objective about that?

Youre putting words in my mouth. I never said they "rivaled" the Habs top four list. What I offered was to defend your notion that the list of centers the Flames had were "sad".

I listed the top 12 centers from the Habs, and taking the top four from each group I noted that while the Canadiens were obviously better, they were not, imo, miles better.

There is no question the list of HOF's Montreal has to offer is better, but it's a tough comparison as the top centers listed for Calgary played in a different era where there were more than 6 teams.

Either way, the Habs are awesome, your centers are better.

Perhaps explaining your post, rather that boldly stating "this is sad", could have had a different outcome.

While I agree the Flames have not been blessed with a wealth of centermen, I do not agree the list created is, sad.

Perhaps thinking about it or asking for an explanation rather than irrationally jumping into troll mode would have yielded a different outcome.

So compare apples to apples then. Who on that list is from 1972 onwards?
Carbonneau, Damphouse, Koivu, Mahovlich, Mondou, Smith, Richard (henri, and barely at that) is all thats left. Not so godly anymore.

1) we won multiple cups in the 70s.

2) the habs have SUCKED for 20 years. Other than Roy (and maybe markov because people are stupid) no one will be on the all time team from the 90s and on.

edit: 6, they won 6 cups in the 70s

edit 2: this was before i was born so give me time to actually look into our centers other than mahovolich, lemaire, jarvis/carbo shut down guy, turgeon, Muller, etc

I took a few minutes and put together the top 12 or so players for Montreal for you. I added that while the top four players for the Habs are clearly better than those selected for the Flames, the Flames players were not sad.

Did you expect me, the Flames blogger, to agree that the list I just put together was sad?

Now please, go back into the Habs threads and continue to attempt to illustrate my blatant lack of hockey knowledge. I insist.

Please, point to a single point at which I have done so.
edit: other than you saying it was stupid to say that the Flames top 12 isnt miles behind the habs top 12, a topic which, AGAIN, you brought up, not me.

and yes, I do. Just as I would expect the CBJ blogger to sigh with every poll he has to do or EE to shoot himself if he had to do a habs team from the past 30 years.

So that's an "I can't" then?

You blew all of this out of proportion. I read your blog as I have every other team's polls. I was shocked to find your top 12 list to be so weak. I made a statement indicating my sentiments. You went off on a tangent, not me.

Flames all time centers is a sad list and indicative of the fact the management has been unable/unwilling to fill a desperate need for... 30? of the past 40 years. I stand by my statement. If you want to attack another team to make your case somehow stronger, feel free. It seems to be your way of discussing your team.

Followed by you changing your location, and waiting for my next blog to reintroduce the "debate" after it had already passed. Followed by (from what Ive been informed) a few comments in the Habs threads?

Lets not take this any further. The Montreal Canadiens have had better centers in their teams existence, than did the Calgary Flames.

again, where did I attack you, as you claimed (and, again, other than the statement you made that was asinine) and how does you proving that you were the one to go on a tangent go against what I said?

BARELY better than the Flames

edit: despite having more than 14 HHOFers on there. The Flames could still compete.
