4-1 come Sunday
team is playing hard for their coach's job

Better come up with more than 2 safeties if they're playing hard.

Anyone have any info on the titans game tonight? Is it in trenton or at the skate vone in vorhees? Its free also but do you need a ticket or just show up? The titans website doesn't have any info.
- twotoekenn

The exhibition game tonight is at the SkateZone. No tickets, just show up. A rematch tomorrow night in Reading. Free admission with the coupon in the Reading Eagle newspaper. Both games are 7:05 starts.

I'm happy with our defense overall, but I do wish we had a Pronger type on the team. The trouble is those players don't come around often. I'm hoping someone on the current roster takes it to the next level this year and emerges as a leader. There are a few candidates for that and thought mezzy was one in particular until his injury. Now it may take him some time to get back to that level of play, but I guess the lockout is giving him time to heal.

I was thinking that too, that the lockout may help Mesz and as well allow Timo to play perhaps a shortened sched. I just don't think we have anyone that can step up and be a Pronger even by committee. I still think back at what this D would have looked like with Weber. That would have rocked. Ah well.. Maybe we can fleece someone at the dealine.

I envision the Flyers making some kind of move to shore up the Defense at some point.

I do too but it won't be until they play, perhaps the 2013-14 season.

I think they have to. I'm hoping there's at least a partial season this year so we can find out.

on a non-hockey subject, the fans are going nuts over the umps in the Braves/Cards game .... I'm just happy that chaos didn't happen in Philly.

The Braves just put the game under protest, that was an awful call

it was ... you'd think that an infield fly rule would require the infielder to at least have one foot on the infield, and not be halfway to the outfield fence.

haha yea exactly, that was a fly ball to left field and the ump waited til the ball basically hit the ground to call it. In such a huge game like this, he might not make it out of the stadium tonight.

I think by rule he has to make that call right away and there he didn't. Would have to wonder if they can win the protest since the rule was not properly applied.

Yea that is what the announcers kept saying, he has to make that call right away if he is going to call the infield fly. You would figure if the Braves are going to win the protest, it is going to have to be announced soon. The Cards have to fly back to St. Louis to get ready for the Nats.

Fredi Gonzalez says protest was already denied. Unclear how. He says umpires consulted with someone, maybe league official, during delay.

Yeah it was fast, not sure I'd agree with it but it's not going to change. Playoffs move on.

Protest is a long shot. Even chipper said call was a "gray area." Not sure why fredi suggested they lost protest already.
