Depends on how important labour is to the product. Not at all out of whack in sports/entertainment - Canada Cup
I guess, music would be an example of that. But musicians aren't in unions and don't collectively bargain. |

As of this post, 29% of voters would go watch replacement players.
WTF?
If you want to watch minor league hockey, can't you already do that? And surely it would be cheaper to watch the AHL or ECHL or OHL or whatever HL you want than to go watch replacement players in NHL arenas. - Scoob

Neither do their employers. If the issue is the economic health of the league, the problem is not whether the playes get 57 or 47% of the revenues. The problem is that the Leafs, Rangers, etc pay the same amount to their players as do the Coyotes |

I'll say it again, the simplest thing seems to be 45-45 with 10 going into fund for rev sharing. - braidan
According to best guestimates, it's already at 12%:
http://slapshot.blogs.nyt...ck-in-n-h-l-negotiations/
And as many have pointed out, the Flyerses and Leafes and Canadienses of the league aren't really happy about that. So the only palatable way to increase revenue sharing is to get the players to kick in the extra money.
Which, from the perspective of the Leafs or Flyers, makes sense: folding the Coyotes wouldn't hurt the bottom line of the Leafs (it may improve it), but it would cut 23 NHLPA jobs.
Want to preserve those jobs? Prove it.
Once again, I'm not taking sides - just pointing out what each side is thinking. |

I'm glad you're not taking sides saying that the players should pay because the profitable teams don't want to doesn't bode well for your career as a mediator. |

Definitely - the gap betweem the best NHLers and the best AHLers is huge but the gap between all of the mediocore NHLers and the best and mediocre AHLers is not that big - I would have no problem watching replacement players. |

Is she from the Honey Boo Boo show?
I must confess I watched about 5 minutes of it.
I'm so stupid I'm a Leafs season ticket holder, and even I couldn't watch it for more than 5 minutes.
How could anyone find that show entertaining? |

HELL NO I wouldn't support replacement players. I had to suffer through that in the NFL in '87. Not going through that again.
It's a shame that we are even talking about replacement players. So sick of this crap with both sides. |
