Franson: healthy scratch 25 times last year.
Komi: healthy scratch 15 times last year (missed further 21 due to injury)
Ranger: missed all of last year for undisclosed reasons.
I'm going with Ranger. |

At the moment it is but if the appeal goes through, that could change.
Point is, if the Leafs put up the money that he wants, he'll be back one way or another.
And yes, it's imperative he comes back because, well, screw Komisarek. - Two_For_Truth
No, it couldn't.
If he has signed a temporary contract, and it was disallowed by the courts, the appeal could have an impact on it.
He didn't.
He signed a contract for the full year.
The temporary contract issue is not relevant at all to Cody Franson.
Get it? |

It's obvious we are picking the lesser of three evils but it's definitely Franson who is the winner of the bunch. |

At 25 healthy scratches last year, he isn't a winner of anything.
Why do Leafs fans love this guy? |

At the hands of Ron Wilson.
It's not a love of Franson. It's a hatred of Komisarek. |

I'll take curtain #3 - Paul Ranger.
At least he once was good - something you can't say about Franson. |

Franson has more career goals in 72 fewer career games. Ranger is a career -10. Franson is a career +24. Franson is bigger and younger.
Sorry, Ranger loses again. |

What appeal? The one about temporary contracts, which, by the way, he doesn't have? That one?
Makes total sense. |

In announcing the signing Monday, the Swedish Elite League team made it sound like Franson would be around for the entire season, but his agent later clarified that he had the option to return to North America if the lockout ended and a contract could be reached with the Leafs.
You were saying?
I thought so. |

That's nice. That doesn't make it a temporary contract. What don't you get about it not being the same as another player who has a pre-existing contract with someone else? |

Mahovlich & Henderson were b4 my time as I started to watch the Leafs as a young lad in early 1976. So from 1976 till now here are my fav Leaf LW's in no particular order:
-Errol Thompson
-Dave 'Tiger" Williams
-Wendel Clark
-Dave Andreychuk
-Gary Roberts.

I agree, I love Franson's shot. His booming shot has eyes. He's a big guy , he's still young so he's going to get better. Leafs will be foolish if they don't smarten up & sign him. Wilson never really gave Franson a true chance. Let's hope Carlyle will be smarter. |

Franson was only scratched too many times only due to Wilson's stupidity. How did that work out for Wilson? I go with Franson. |

If he has an out in his contract, yes it is. It's temporary as long as there is a lockout and the Leafs don't sign him. As soon as the lockout is done and if the Leafs sign him, he's back here. |

Lol.
So, does it work the same way with everyone else? Do they have to wait until the lockout I done and they get signed? |

When the lockout is done, the players come back.
C'mon now, it's not that hard. |
