Exactly. Jimmy Watson's low percentage for 6th/7th all-time (let alone not making the Top 3) indicates more people should read up on Flyers' history. Full Spectrum should be required fan reading.

It goes back to my point a few days ago - modern athlete versus the old athlete.

Many factors - different equipment, more international athletes, more teams, more travel perhaps - millions of factors that have to be discounted. I don't think it is as easy as some suggest here.

I voted for Coby by the way. Sooner or later, he will become the best Flyers d-man unless we go after Weber again.

Anyway - respect your opinion - but the voting results are the voting results.

Derek Boogaard's family is suing National Hockey League Players' Association for his death.

Absolutely amazing. Zero accountability, when dollar signs are in play, everyone becomes a pass the buck chuck. Boogaard was a drug addict, and if I'm not mistaken his Brother tampered with evidence, and the family is looking to shift the blame elsewhere for the almighty dollar. Just sickening.

I think you have to go by how they played in the era they were playing in. Modern day athletes are machines compared to the 60's-70's players.

Coby may very well be what you say when his carreer is done but as far as his compilation of work to date i cant consider him for an all-time flyers team. Coby probably shouldnt be even on the list YET. Same i think for Hartnell. I think if he finishes out his new contract here we will be talking about him for this all-time list but right now its way to premature.

As I understood, they were suing the NHLPA for failing to file a grievance against the Rangers for withholding the balance of his contract (which legally they're required to paid out even in the case of player death, or so I had read), a grievance they allegedly assured the family would be filed.

To clarify, I'm not even remotely attempting to make light his drug abuse nor his brother's evidence tampering.

The NHLPA says that there are no grounds for the claim and have otherwise refused to comment. The allegations in the claim have yet to be heard in court."

I had seen that $5m figure and plain old forgot (I skimmed the article on my phone a couple days ago). Maybe the $5m is for damages caused by the delayed payout or something? I'm just trying to apply logic to it, I'd think if they were seeking to blame any organization it'd be the team (not to say they'd be correct in suggesting so). Either way, what an ugly situation.

I hope I'm right on Coby. I don't have him top 6 all time but up in the owners box. I like 6'7"" guys that can skate.

You raise fair and reasonable points. I just view the "game" (best of all time game) a little different. Mentally, I take the old timers and zip them thru my time machine into today's rink with 2012 equipment.

Overall, I think it is fair to say that skill levels may be comparable but athleticism a little less so. Not to mention, however unfortunate, about all the drug enhancements that players use.

Its sad but the Apex of my hockey enjoyment comes from 1-3 when all the euro leagues are on, but hey its something.

On a side note I looked into getting the AHL center ice package online... IT COST 350!!! I get paying that price for the NHL...but ahl really? I would be willing to pay 150 to watch the AHL during the lockout....but 350 for what could end up being AAA hockey without NHL prospects.

Its like the AHL doesn't want anyone to watch...
