People were divided about 50-50 at the time. But this is Clarke the player not the GM up for vote and there was room for both Lindros and him on the fantasy team roster -- and both got around 90 percent of the vote for inclusion.

Still not sure how "only" 88 percent voted for Bernie as one of the top two Flyers goalie, except that I'm sure some didn't vote for him on the basis of having been born after his career.

I understand but the percentages could be off due to age. I for one was not alive when the flyers won their last cup. At the same time, we as fans should still be educated on the team's all time best. Also, some have a hard time separating the player from the off ice situation he might in. Whether it might be a hold out or bad decision made by a player years after retiring. Many lose respect and lose focus. I don't understand this dislike for Mark Recchi for example.

I think that Bill was trying to imply that other Hextall and Parent, our goalies have historically sucked.

Choosing an all time Flyers team and not picking Parent, Clarke or Barber is just insane. I'm guessing those are fans of other teams just screwing with the poll.

Never thought of that. It would be ridiculous for fans of other teams to come on here and troll like that. Borderline offensive.

My only change that I would make to your original comment is that I had to keep LCB together as a unit, not individual players.

I couldn't see anyone passing over Leach either but even I passed over MacLeish so I guess I have to excuse them. I won't pass over MacLeish next time around.

Just for giggles - any thoughts as to which teams could fill out the all-time rosters for the following:

1. Centers (4)
2. Wingers (8)
3. D-men (6)
4. Goalie (2)

For centers - do you go with Edmonton with Gretzky and Messier, or Pitt w/ Lemieux, Crosby, Malkin?

Goalies - NJ or Montreal, or someone else since you need 2?

Wingers - maybe Detroit? D-men - maybe Detroit?

Just something to talk aobut....

I'd probably go with Montreal for all of them. It would be too easy to fill them all out with Habs. You could probably fill it twice.

Is Tyler Hostetter just completely off the radar at this point?

I played hockey on his teams and went to High School with him. Great kid. Hope to see him don a Flyers jersey

An all time Habs team would Sh!T on any other all time team....they just had so many legendary Players.

On top of that How would the Habs choose a Goalie?

I tend to favor the modern day athlete, so I am a little surprised at the center position. I thought Pitt has 3 of the best ever.

Goalie - agreed.

Wingers / D-men. I haven't put the thought, and am younger than some, so I will defer to your comments.

I just think there is an age gap and a transition from when the flyers went from winning in the late 80's, losing in the early 90's and back to winning once the Legion of doom was put together.

Not upset. He was a shoo-in on my roster, too. But come on.... more votes/ higher percentage than Bernie, Clarke, Howe or Lindros?
- bmeltzer

Exactly. Jimmy Watson's low percentage for 6th/7th all-time (let alone not making the Top 3) indicates more people should read up on Flyers' history. Full Spectrum should be required fan reading.

Yep. Not being able to anticipate plays is definitely a direct function of the team in front of him.

Of course the Bryz jabs come out in full flight but it kinda rubs me the wrong way when my team allows 30 shots.

There's a nice white stucco house with a well tended flower bed and a grey wooden rocker on the porch waiting for you.

Boston for D pairing- Borque Chara
Edmonton for C Gretzky-Messier-one of the young guns, who cares

Det could counter with: Howe Yzerman Fedorov

Shows alot of young posters on the site. No way Couborn or Hatcher should get voted for. Bundy was average at best.
