Random question, but what happens if Budron ends up signing with the Phantoms? Who would pay the insurance and what are the logistics of a player having 2 contracts with the same Org?
- flyers4487

Bourdon can't sign with the Phantoms. Also the Flyers no longer own the Phantoms.

Everyone gets to decide how they want to vote and what criteria they use. That's what makes it interesting. All I'm saying is that you don't have to have watched the player play to be aware of his greatness. And the #1 choice at this position for the Flyers is an easy choice to make.

I agree with you about parent even though i only saw video and know his stats. I'm probably just be arguementative because i've overdosed on coffee this morning.
I think we should vote for the worst goalie in flyers history also, stephane beauregard gets my vote.

I love Chris Stewart. Last season wasn't one of his best but his contract is a bargain if the Blues get him going again. Plus being good friends with Simmonds could mean future flyer.

What a difficult and almost impossible choice to make in choosing between Ron Hextall and Pelle Lindbergh for the backup spot.

Not imho. It was easy.

They're still the flyers ahl team though, and in glenns falls for one maybe two more years. What would be a good league for someone like bourdon to sign? I don't think he meets the khls requirements.

I knew they didnt own the phantoms, but they still run them. Why can't he sign with the Phantoms?

The AHL ruled last week that players on two-way deals in 2012-13 who were also on the AHL Clear Day List in 2012 are eligible for the AHL during the lockout. Bourdon meets both criteria, and that's why he'll be in Phantoms camp.

Did someone yesterday mention it boils down to body of work? Can't remember who that was.

So would he sign a standard deal, and then be responsible to cover his own insurance?

Off topic here, that call last night was bad, but the packers didn't deserve to win should never have come down to last second play.

You would think exceptions could be made at times like this. Entry level players I get can play in the AHL but what about NHL players who have below average NHL stats. Why not allow them to play in the minors?

Bill, maybe this was answered already, but why wasn't Mike Richards included in the centers list? Not that he would have made the top 4, it was just a curious omission.

I don't disagree, but that would put Hextall ahead of Pelle IMO.

If we were fielding the all time dream team, I think Richards or Brindy would be my #4.

Giroux
Clarke (3rd liner pest)
Brindy/Richards

I think your comments are dead on right.

Why does he need to sign somewhere else? He can play for the Phantoms.

He's already signed to a contract and is eligible to play for the Phantoms. Why would he now sign an AHL contract with the Phantoms?

No, he'll be playing with the Phantoms under his current NHL deal. The same way that Couturier, Schenn, Gustafsson, and Rinaldo will. Bourdon meets the AHL requirements to play there during the lockout.

oh believe me, I loved Pelle. Saw him play loads and even met him on several occassions. He was sooooo nice. always stopped to talk to people. He never had the opportunity to reach his full potential so its really hard to say what would have happened.
- nastyflyergirl

never forget that sunday morning, we were at the flyers game sat night and Pelle didnt get the start and we had tix for the sunday Eagles game vs Atlanta. You could hear a pin drop at the Eagles game and some people were crying. I think I cried for months.

He'd have to clear waivers to play for the Phantoms under his current NHL deal.

He can sign a temporary AHL-only contract with the Phantoms in the interim.

Not true BradleyC4. He can be loaned to the Phantoms without having to clear waivers and play on his current contract which is still a two way deal until next season.
