"Bettman and Fehr Agree To Sit Tonight And Talk"
.....but not to each other. |

The NHL is a joke for allowing this to go on. They will lose more revenue than ever before. A lot of die hard hockey fans are getting turned off real fast. It's a shame whats going on in sports. The NFL is becoming a joke with the officials, the NHL is clueless, the NBA just sucks because it's the same 2-4 teams that make the finals and baseball is just boring. - BallardHitsHard22
Try watching the MLB Playoffs. Late in the games is anything but boring.

Eklund: Bettman and Fehr Agree To Sit Tonight And Talk - Eklund
Do the Players realize that they are going to get a double wammy by sitting out? Its a given that their % is going down...but the longer they sit out the more revenue the league will lose. So now instead of 50% of 3.3 Billion, they will lose a bunch more because it will be placed in escrow and when league revenue comes in below 3 billion they all get less and the cap will go down accordingly. It makes absolutley ZERO sense for them to miss any time. |

2 questions:
1) at what point in the lock out have they wasted any gains they would have had for this season?
2) how do i get a subscription to the KHL? Will Center ICE put some packages together?

One word: SCABS. Bring'em in...let's go! Players go to Europe. Owners bring in replacement players. It's fair. The hockey would suck at first....but would be fun to watch that scenario. |

On the bright side of things, the NFL just proved they are as Mickey Mouse as the NHL. Nice to have some company eh Gary and Don? |

How ironic it is that these children are fighting over money that, if they miss a full season, will be MUCH less. |

It's insanity, with the economy tipping close to another recession and they can't get their sh!t together? I just can't buy the idea that the players can't submit a proper counteroffer. I'm sure that there is some common ground but now it's a pissing match, to see who can claim the telephone pole as the alpha dog. Fu cking ridiculous! |

im sure they are just comparing the size of their Wangs...once a winner is decided, they can use that leverage to screw the fans some more

In that case they should have invited their short peckered friend, Charles Wang |

watched my kids rep team play last night. far more interesting than a bunch of over paid bums skating around deciding whether they will play hard that night or not. plus the calibre of hockey was probably better than the leafs anyways. i say cancel the season.... - tangocash001
I say end it for good. Then start a NHL2 version with salaries ranging from 250 grand to 2 Million a year for the superstar player. Cut ticket prices by 75% and owners still make profit. |

Make the salaries $40,000/yr for entry level guys up to a max of $250 grand for the likes of Sidney Crosby. Owners reduce ticket prices to an average of $10 with beers costing $1.50. Official jerseys cost $19.99. Everybody wins. |
