Somewhere along the line, you know someone who had a job despite showing gross incompetence repeatedly. Scott happens to be the example at ESPN.
wouldnt they have fired him when he led to their "descent" ESPN is not descending. it is ascending and will ALWAYS be the worldwide leader in sports.

Microsoft is the world leader in computer software, and most of its products suck - it just happens to be convenient for way too many companies to use.
GM was the world leader in auto sales until recently, and it had several poopty models it rolled out year after year.
Facebook. 'Nuff said.
I wouldn't look at ESPN as being the "worldwide leader in sports" as any kind of sign that it's actually doing a great job. Don't confuse market share for greatness.
