This is a crazy thought. I'm going to have to question your intellect with posts like this.

Yeah, I figured it would too. I had friends coming down from around the state, and already told them at the beginning of the month to reconsider taking the days off and stuff because the lockout would probably kill that game. I guess it's better for me it was cancelled since I would have had to scramble to find people to use all those tickets at the last minute.

Why is Reinhart so low, why no love? I have him in my top five
- Cptmjl

Pronman had him listed at 15 overall on his draft board, he wasn't overly high on him but admits that a slew of scouts are extremely high on him.

Corey Pronman @coreypronman
Had him 15 on my draft board. Know a lot of scouts who love him though. RT @mtoggel: @coreypronman surprised that G. Reinhart was so low.

Plus he doesn't tend to rank younger, less proven defensemen, like Reinhart, very high early on in their Jr/NCAA/etc... careers. Reinhart could probably be one of the biggest risers on that list next year if he shines this season.

Sure hope so. We are going to need him to be good. If these six years of failure give us nothing in return... Well lets just say if you think I hate Snow now?

Surprised Kabanov is rated so highly. One behind Murphy and ahead of Bjugstad and Gormley. I thought he was a bit further off people's radar by now.

Why? he was going to get some NHL games this year on call up & be a reg next year. kid is the real deal.

I agree. It just seems like he's not talked or written about as much as the names around him on that list...certainly not as much as a prospect like Gormley. If it was a media-generated list rather than a scout-generated list, he'd probably be farther down.

He has boatloads of skill, top 3 skill. The only issue is that he can't seem to produce at a consistent level. I usually hate to compare guys just because they're Russian, but my best (personal) guess is that he's going to be an Alex Semin kind of producer. There will be games where he'll absolutely drop our jaws with his skill..and there will be stretches where we will be screaming about how we hate inconsistent Russians that are lazy.

I don't know...from stuff I've read, I don't think Kabanov's issues have to do with disappearing for stretches like Semin. I've read he gives a fairly consistent effort both with and without the puck from game to game (the "without the puck" part improving over the last year). It's just that he doesn't always put points up in those games. Since he's a pass-first player, I think he'll put points up regularly if he has the right linemates. But I think he'll be noticeable every game. I've read his game is based on his skating and, unlike Semin, using his anticipation to always be either carrying or around the puck. I think he'd be perfect for Nino...a speedy, smart puck carrier and distributor who can draw attention and find shoot-first Nino in the slot. I guess we'll find out in B-port this year.
