It's a good think the lockout is coming, the owners are so broke - they can't continue in the system they created and yet they just signed a half dozen brutal contract today.

if i was an owner, i gotta say, i wouldn`t be too keen on giving up half or more of the revenue my investment brought in, to the employees with large contracts i already honour, whom dont have any of the liabilities that go into running the organization. Im impartial on the whole topic, just saying that in my opinion, players seem a little too entitled.

What i would love to see happen, and of course it never ever would, but it`d be great to just f`n can the whole league, and draft an entire new NHL, sure it wouldn`t be the same calibre in talent, but you`d have some extremely comptetive hockey, with players who played for the crest on their sweater, opposed to the dollars in their bank accounts.

I bet if that scenerio ever came to fruition (again, i know it never would) you`d see a ton of these current NHLers lining up to play on the big stage again.

One thing I hope they remember through all this, is that no player is bigger than the game, there was hockey before them, there will be hockey after them. Not one player in this league is irreplaceable, not one.

Why would an employee have any liabilities of running the team. This argument is nonsense. Only owners have that, and the players arent owners.
