Something I think most of us have been wondering about. Hopefully it extends the time for Wanger's rule? Hopefully Martin and his agent are aware of the validity of this rule and kn ow whether it is in effect with or without the lockout? I wouldn't just assume they know. That would be like assuming Snow would know about a NTC involving a player he traded for. - Cptmjl
this doesnt make any sense now that the arbitrator decided it was a valid trade.... |

Hamonic is obviously a full-time NHL'er, but with the rules in the KHL regarding how many NHL signings are allowed that aren't Russian, and with other leagues not really presenting themselves as being that much better than the AHL, why not send him to Bridgeport where at least the Islanders organization can keep him close? With how he has developed, he would have been an exceptional number 3 defenseman this season, and he will top out at an excellent number 2 defenseman on the top pairing. The only thing he will gain from this experience in Bridgeport is leadership abilities, as he is sure to be the best player they have on the team. The one negative is that I think the game is going to slow him down due to the drastic decrease in game speed, and that will be negative in the long run. - NYIsles16
true...although considering the fact no one expects the entire season to be lost, this can be a training camp of sorts and can keep him fresh...im fine with the move |

Travis Hamonic is a puzzler to me.
imo, he is a regular NHL player. I know he can be sent to the AHL to play, but I'm not really sure it will do him much good and it could set back other players development if he is taking all the icetime. - IanEsplen
h's icetime is he hurting's?? ty wishart?? i'm all for it |

I like the fact that these guys will be playing in Bridgeport.
It's what most of us want to see.
I would actually pay to watch those games on tv...
Strome back in St. Catharines... along with the Dougie Hamilton... |

Keep us updated if you see him play. I know you said that you've gotten the chance to see him and weren't blown away. But Chief posted those scouting comments about him looking like a stronger skater of late. Curious to hear if you notice a difference in his game at all. |

I will for sure... I just think he should be more dominant out there.
Maybe with everything going on last year... he wasn't on his game all year.
I hope he takes it to another level this year.
I believe he has been working out with JT this offseason, and we all seen the improvement in his game last year.
I have the OHL package... so I won't miss too many games.
Ice Dog tickets will be hard to get this season. |

this doesnt make any sense now that the arbitrator decided it was a valid trade.... - LetsGoIsles
Why does that not make sense now? He had a no-trade clause. Hence why it went to an arbitrator? What is it expunged because some arbitrator had to make a ruling. It wouldnt have gone to an arbitrator in the first place if there wasn't any validity to it. You have such an interesting way of looking at things? Wierd? |

because maybe garth was in fact aware of this potential NTC issue that visnovsky had and even still went through with the deal because he knew that even if a grievance was filed that the trade would not be reversed....therefore making him look pretty damn good if you ask me....is that possible?
(and we can go back and forth who has an interesting way of looking at things so ill bow out of that debate) |
