because you're different and if you're different you're a threat to their status quo
- 2Real

you come in here touting your opinions -- which have no factual evidence behind them, other than the crutch of "different than the status quo" (which basically means "different just to be different") -- and then resort to asking dumb questions to try to cover for the fact that you have no idea what you're talking about.

you're such a phony.

Ah yes, Steve Jobs. That incredible free marketeer, whose strategy included the massive pursuit of frivolous patent infringement lawsuits to attack and ban his market competition in lieu of out-innovating them.

I'll say this once, because topics are already going all over the place. I tried to make a joke about politics and now I am getting attacked.

Regardless, don't you feel that Eric Schmidt had some fidiciary duty to Apple shareholders when he sat on their board of directors? You don't find it a little disturbing that as CEO of Google he basically copied one of the products from the company whose board he sat? I am not clear, and don't really need to know, how many meetings and committees he sat on or excused himself from. But there is some level, IMO, of this smelling bad.

It's free market capitalism. If Apple was truly a better company they'd innovate their way past all this supposed issue.

2Real!

But my point is still the same. You are on the board of one company while planning to become their biggest competitor. Smells bad.

hard to make a judgement call on this without the full facts but it is suspicious if the initial reports are true

Look at the television contracts (and the revenue brought in by them) and you'll see where a large chunk of the inequalities come from.

I won't respond to that, because I have no clue on the IP issues involved. So either if you are right or wrong, I can't opine either way.

I still think from a corporate governance standpoint there was some pretty fishy stuff going on.

No, patents are just relying on big government to regulate the market, rather than allow competition to determine the best product.

patent trials are decided by a jury so the people determine what they want and the free market is the people

Why can't Oakland, who has the 3rd best record in Baseball get anyone out to the games?

I know why... most casual baseball fans can't name 3 players on their team, who's entire payroll equates to about 1/7 of the Phillies or Yankees.

That my friend is the difference between a big market and a small one.

A jury is not a market. It's glorified regulation, regardless of the doublespeak.

well living in the oakland area i can tell you exactly why
because the team's management is completely brain dead on top of that you have a park in hell hole of a city and no one will want to go the games

there has been a lot of talk about moving the A's out of oakland over the years

it needs to be done cause they'll always be a joke until they get out of there

a jury is the people and they're deciding what is ok and what isn't the people are the market because without people there is no one to exchange with
if people don't want something there's no market for it
