Gus is going to be the most improved player for the Flyers this year. I am expecting good things from the youngster.

I think Gus is going to make Strides but I think Bourdon is going to really impress for a couple of reasons. Opportunity- We need defensemen sure, but we are lacking in a big shot from the point. MAB has probably the best one after Pronger & Mez. Second I think the staff & Players know something we don't. Every time they mention new kids coming up MAB is the top of the list and the guy they speak most passionately about. And finally despite everything I think MAB is still flying under everyone's radar especially considering we thought the wheels had come off 2 years ago.

I like MAB but I think Gus is better at skating the puck and has more offensive upside IMO. Hopefully they both can be very good for this team.

According to espn.com, Shane Doan has re-signed with the Coyotes and will finalize it when the team is officially sold. At least he isn't going to the Rangers.

Or Pens!!

Does anyone want to give me their thoughts on if Pronger will return or if he wont. I kinda have a feeling he will. I havent heard anything either way.

The thing is, even if he came back at this point.

How good would he be?

One big hit and what happens?

Honestly to me the same would apply to Crosby.

If he gets one more, and its a serious one I would hang them up for good.

No point ruining the rest of your life in countless attempts to come back.

It's tough to argue the logic. The difference in my eyes is age and accomplishments I guess. Crosby is just entering his prime where as Pronger is near the end of the line anyway.

edit- I didn't read carefully enough. I agree, one more of any kind of severity has to cause him to think long and hard about the rest of his life.

Young or old... I think Crosby gets another one he might be done. I think that goes for any player.

I feel like if he had any positive progress we'd have heard about it by now. If he's still having good and bad days/weeks/months at this point, I doubt he ever tries to come back.

Of course, maybe he's feeling really, really, really WWE-esque, and has improved drastically but wants to have that, "IS THAT PRONGER'S MUSIC?!" kind of moment.

I've never known Pronger to be one for theatrics, of course. He's more of an 'antics' type.

Sucks about Vasiliev but I'm also glad Ghost wasnt concussed from the training camp hit.

Quick question, what can we expect from Couturier this season? more of the same or a bigger role ?

- MrBigglesworth

Bigger role should a lockout not happen.

This is why the nhl really needs to take care of head shots. Say games start up whenever and the first week bang crosby gets hit up high and is done, the week after that hossa gets it again, maybe someone'll actually have to die before they give out more than a game or two for headhunting.
