That pronger deal is looking better. Ebs for another six and smid being close to signing an extension. Both stand up guys and nice to see fruits from what appeared to be a crappy deal. Gone are days of players not wanting to be here and management being consistent and not making rash decisions and letting the greatness blossom

That was a Jim Matheson make up story that got shot down and actually laughed at by the Preds. - Lahey
So you're sayin the preds didnt think smid was worth blum?
He (smid)wasnt the same player then, but if thats the case, then we should def get smid for less than 4

To those so called experts that still think Tambellinni was sitting on his butt this year I ask you, Well has he done enough after drafting Yaks, signing Schultz, resigning Hordi, Smyth, Gags, Petry, Dubs, Danis and most importantly Hall and Ebs.
also throw in hiring a new coach and it's still August. Pretty busy summer it looks like to me. - longbottom
schultz was a nice signing. but 28 other gms were trying to get him too. he chose us.
yaks was a draft pick that was given to ST on a silver platter. dubs, gags and petry were all rfa's. none of those resignings are above and beyond. anyone wouldve done this. it doesnt take an EXPERT to figure this out. it's called doing his job.
danis and hordichuk...meh.
ill give him props for ebs and hall though. (even though its a small overpayment..)
still should be doing more to make our 29th place team better.

Just sayin he should be doing more?
Lets see how long does it take to hammer out a deal with 1 player?
Now he has signed 15 players since june 30th,
went thru the process of hiring a new coach,
tried to make a trade for Weber (according to Weber's agent)
and today is only August 30th.
For all we know is he has another contract on the table for Smid
and is on the phone with every other G.M.
trying to make a trade or dealing with Whitney's doctors about his ankles
or dealing with other agents about UFA's.
MAybe there is more to his job than what anybody on here can really imagine
I know I wouldn't get all of that done yet but I am not a G.M. in the NHL.

It wasn't a great year for free agents and there wasn't much available for trades.

July 20 - Jarrett Bousquet
Jarrett Bousquet is Shea Weber's agent
that is the addition to listen to. - longbottom
Thx. To me, the way that is said, it doesn't really sound like Edm was ever really considered. It's more of a thing where ST made a call like every GM in the league was obliged to do. Then it just boils down to he's talking on an Edm radio station, so it's obviously better if he can tie that team into the discussion.

You'd have to watch more of him to understand. Eberle's more the highlight reel guy.

Hahaha, yes. It's amazing how much people will credit Tambo for doing the obvious and not (frank)ing up.

look at all the haters get all pissed cause these kids signed for less money and long term...total opposite of the famous theory"they will run as soon as their entry deals are up" - oil90
The haters are only pissed cause all of them trolls said the kids would bolt out of Edmonton as soon as the EL deals were up and that the Oil would never be able to sign them all. Them there trolls are looking like (frank)tards now
