Go ahead. He took 4 mil. So offer him 4.1. There you go. Problem solved. - Cptmjl
MAYBE just MAYBE parenteau never had any intentions in signing a deal with the islanders but didnt burn that bridge to USE THEM to help bump up the offers....wow, brilliant!!! |

Most people on here realize that an arena deal has to be figured out before Wang hands out any money.
That's not Garths fault.
He started a rebuild with nothing, and filled the organization with prospects.
Maybe not the hardest thing to do...
If you want to blame somebody... blame Wang, the politics on Long Island, and the people that voted against the new project.
Does Garth need to make a move to make the team better... I think everybody agrees he does.
To say he has done nothing is crazy.
He doesn't have the same money other GM's have to spend. - jimmc7722

As Islander fans on this site to expect that from Snow is too much. He some how is labled as a good GM or it's "Wangs fault" for hiring him but to expect a trade for someone like Ryan is just ludicrous by no fault of Snow of course. It's (frank)ing insane how people on here think this guy is doing a good job when he has millions to play with just to reach the floor and his big acquisition is a guy who is filing a grievance bcs he had a no trade clause(again not Snow's fault?)who obviously at this time wants nothing to do with this team and a guy who had 20 points last year to replace PA's 67? He's a great GM. - Cptmjl
bold1: what do the ducks want in return for Ryan?
bold2: not sure if youre aware but PA played on offense, Vis plays defense. |

I don't either. Wang is not going to suddenly transform into a sane, sound, good owner. I don't know why some of these guys have this notion? The guy is who he is. Players are not going to suddenly want to come here because we have a new arena. Everyone says it's Wangs fault these days. Well guess what? If we get the new arena deal he is still going to be the owner and Snow is still going to be our GM. Those same players that didn't want to come here before because of the circus are not going to come to that same side show with a new arena. Snow has done nothing with the millions he HAD to spend. What is he going to do with in excess of those millions? Sign more shat? Unfortunately it is what it is. I just can't deal with the burying the head in the sand routine some of these guys have. It sucks I'm not happy about it either but lets not sit here and be naieve enough to say Snow is doing a great job and all will change in 2015. Again, these same people were saying for the last 3 years that Snow had to make a big splash to reach the floor and we all know how that turned out. Don't we? - Cptmjl

I live about 10 minutes from the Pilgrim State property, not really an option. There is the Sag PKWY & the LIE right there, but 2 lanes to get to an arena on an already crowded road Monday-Friday, plus still no RR access, Deer Park station is close but not right there like at Penn Station or the 7/4 trains for the Mets & Yankees. - B2B76

Ok me for one and I know I will get drilled for this but I like the idea that we signed Boyes. For a couple of reasons:
1. He did score 40 goals int his league not to long ago. Sometimes players get traded or just lose confidence and they struggle to get back. I think being here will help him especially with Tavares. He turns it around and gets us 25 to 30 goals we make up for PAP right there.
2. There is really no pressure here to win. Most guys will thrive under those situations and possible make a laugher club into a contender so again he will be fine.
3. We have some great success picking up guys who still had a lot to prove and turning them back to what they were. This guy could just be the next one.
Now as for Garth listen I can not judge him here in the NHL level until thse draft picks actually play a NHL game. If these guys never do or are traded then well I can say he has failed. As a AHL or minor league GM he has rebuilt the system. I wishhe did more for the NHL club but what can we do until the Wang regime is goen this is what we are going to have to deal with for a while so might as well get used to it. I rather them just get an arena first and then we can talk more about Snow |

5 years ago. A third of most playes careers at best> I don't hate the dea of Boyes playing here it may pan out. I just hate the last part of my sentence, "it may pan out". You don't put a question mark on your first line unless you are Snow of course. |

Joking aside I hate Snow as a GM I hate Wang as our owner I hate DP even being on the roster, but I came to realize I cant do anything about that and that when the season starts whenver that may be they will still be here and nothing is going to change at all. We are still going to be sub par hockey team we are still going to have the same issues. nothing will ever change with this team. We all rely on some kids that we drafted to save us fromt aht playoff oblivion but that is not fair on these kids. We can not depend on them as much as we cant depend on Snow or Wang to make this better. The onyl people who can make this better is the Islander fans themselves and support our team no matter how bad they are. Sometimes a team needs the fans behind them 100% to play at that level we all hope for |

Nah it is me Kasper but I cant judge a team who has not even stepped on the ice yet. ARe we the laughing stock of the league? More then likely. Are we goingto be good this year? Unlikely but I love hockey and if it meant watching 15 years old playing then so be it. I watch every team though and I do get jealous seeing other teams and the talent and the level that they play at but buddy there comes a time where we just have to sit back and see what happens before bashing them. I turned 35 years old this year and maybe I just matured I dont know but I have two kids that I need to fight for not the Islanders |

It is all good to me cause most of the points you make are the truth and right on. Some people on here are oblivious to what goes on. I mean I have some sources within the organization but to be honest they dont even know what is going on. Until Wang is bye bye this will be the state of the team sadly. If not Snow then he will find some one else to be his puppet |

the idiot gm who traded coburn for zhitnik has no bearing on the trade the flyers and islanders made...thats just stupid - NYI78
Eh, I don't see why it has no bearing...same player traded within two months for two very different returns. Fair comparison, imo. The idea of winning a trade is finding that "idiot gm" who will overpay for your asset, no? The Isles got a fair return, the Flyers got a great return. One team managed the same asset better than the other. |

No it was actually(of course IMO). Just because we have a new arena does not mean FA's are going to consider this a great place to play if you believe that you also probably believe Snow is a great GM and I'm guessing in the Easter bunny. If you believe that you are wrong. See, now your statement isn't true so there! |
