There hasn't been any news on that subject over the past few months, don't see it happening. - LeftCoaster
All that I am saying is that with this whole CBA thing hanging over the league, you never know what is going to happen with player transactions. I wouldn`t count on anything before the CBA is resolved, and therefore, nothing before the season starts.
I would be happy with 40-50pts if he plays a full 82 games. I mean he's played maybe 50 games total scattered over 2-3 years.
I'd like to see him take over MacArthurs wing spot this year, or Kulemins and Kuli drop to the 3rd line. - wolfos412
Id like to see him centering Kessel and Lupul but i dont have high hopes for that. If he is on the second line id rather see Kuli go down. Mac is consistent and could have good chemistry with Naz. Same type of players. He should get a shot at center tho. 1st or 2nd line.
Ill take that bet as long as you say he will play 90% of the games. I don't doubt Kardis skill level. But he has a poop ton of work to do before being a solid nhler. - Bieksa#3
Theres no way to predict that he will play 90% of the games. If he doesn't it'll be because of injury

I agree with all his hard work, and since we're trying JVR why not try Kadri as well. I feel Kadri should have been training on that though, like faceoffs, and positioning as a Center, etc. Since they never told him that there going to try him there like they did with JVR I'm sure he never bothered while JVR has.

Glad you like the avatar. I think the trade is realistic. Every other Leaf fan is saying "Komi and a 3rd" and I think thats low, but this seems to be satisfactory. Although I am sure some desperate team at the trade deadline could do a better deal up. - Suckitcrosby

He has a feel for the NHL game now. He is a natural center so he knows the positioning. He has been working really hard to get his defensive game in order. JVR is bound to slump sooner or later. Face-offs could be an issue, but that can be taught. He lacks the size but makes up for it in finesse and skill. i think confidence is key for him.

And there is a coach now that might actually give him a chance.
34 yrs old...lost his job...demanded a trade...on television...twice
only 2 teams in the running...
these aren't things that usually limit return are they? - Big_Lightnin
...add in that next year's UFA goalie list looks pretty damn good and that the CBA may limit the length of contracts (making Lou even less attractive).
...Gillis' finger should still be on the button ready to accept the first remotely reasonable offer for Lou.

This. Luongo will be 35, still a backup, and will have 9 years left on his contract. He will have ZERO value, regardless of what kind of stats he had when he was 5 years younger.

There's just something about Kadri that scares the poop out of me when Leafs fans start saying we should trade him.
He's had a few (very few, and far between) flashes of brilliance on the ice. The kind of stuff that makes you stop and say, "wow."
I realize this is no guarantee if anything, but I'd really prefer we keep the kid and see where his talent can take him.
Ashton? Yeah, I only saw him for 15 games, but he didn't do a single thing to impress me.

confidence with him I think. Was excellent at the WJC and very solid down the stretch in AHL. He was used in a checking role with Leafs and I get the feeling he was trying to play safe more than anything. Think we'll see more from him this year (if ...)
agree on Kadri - he's got ridiculous hands and vision. Once he figures the NHL game out and has the strength to play he's going to be dangerous offensively.
