You do understand the difference between past, present, and future, right? All of that happened in the past - super, and good for him.

Present - he's been knocked out of his starting job by a younger netminder, has told the media that it's time to move on, holds a NTC, and is 34 years old.

Future - he's signed until he's old enough to be a grandfather, during which time his play will certainly fall off from all the wonderful things you've mentioned in your ridiculously biased post.

Bottom line - he's worth nowhere near what Vancouver fans think he is, but is worth a bit more than what other fans think. If he's traded it will be for an "okay" return.

Let's try this, if Lou was in the exact same position - but in Toronto - how much would you, if you were Mike Gillis, be willing to give Burke for Luongo?

I'll answer for you....Ballard and Raymond...

How can you say that?

The Lack signing gives the whole topic a fresh, new, feel... like Massengill.

Oh Mikey,

"Bluff"?

The best goaltender on the market, with the highest career save % in the NHL, one of the highest since they started keeping the stat.

3 time Vezina nominee. Jennings winner. One of only 10 goalies with 6 straight 30+ wins with one team.

There aint no bluffing here. He gets a good deal or goes to the other guy.

I am enjoying folks from back East running the guy down every chance they get though.

Carry on...

and yet, your team chose to go with an unproven young goalie in the playoffs and moving forward.

Are you going to now start claiming that somehow Vancouver has two of the top 5 goalies in the league because, so far, that has been my second favourite Canucks stupidity, right behind the either Sedin > Sundin.

Oh, and who is the "other guy"? That other guy who is offering more? I am sure all of us, especially Gillis, would love to know who that other guy is.

I think Gillis needs to just bite the bullet and trade Luongo to the leafs for Kulimen, Holzer/Kadri and a 2nd. He isn't getting Gardiner, Rielly or our first round pick so he has to get that nonsense out of his head. I can't see Gillis getting our first round pick unless someone named Sedin or Kesler is coming back (alright trolls, I did not say they are only worth a first round pick, i am saying that Vancouver has nothing else that TO needs enough to warrant throwing in a first round pick.)
- Suckitcrosby

Kulimen? Holzer or Kadri? AND a pick.

Uh, no.

Sure this might happen, but I am not sure I would give up anything of value.

Let Vancouver choke on the dumb contract they signed.

Booth=Lupul

30 Goal seasons booth=1 lupul=0
60pt seasons booth=1 lupul=1

Booth and Lupul both make roughly the same in salary but Lupul is in for a big payday after this season while booth is locked in a his contract for a few more years.

Both players have been threw numerous injuries that may have slowed them both from reaching there full potential but both (especially lupul with his blood infection and booth with concussion and acl/mcl ) have found a way to battle back time after time and still be top6 players on just about every team

Also here's my luongo proposal:

To TML:
Luo
Raymond
Ballard

To Van:
Lombardi
Ashton
Franson
MacArthur

How the hell do the Leafs take on THREE of your salary dumps?

That is because only You and Fosco, and sometimes Vantel are even worth listening to among your fan base. The rest are trolling here daily.

Enough about Lu..

Now that Kadri spent the summer with Roberts.. What are the chances of him putting up 60pts? I think it's possible.

In the ahl maybe.

I think that's fare. But I have been saying g for 2 months that the deal will be Lu for Bozak, Ashton and one out of Franson/Percy/Finn

care to make a friendly wager?

Kadri will score more points than Booth this year. Book it.

I wouldn't call it an over payment, I'd call it a compromise that allows Lu and Kuli a fresh start and Holzer and the 2nd are to sure up the sides. There might be some extra pieces flying around but the basic idea is fair
- Suckitcrosby

Holzer is gonna be our 6th dman this year and Kuli is one year removed from a 30goal season...

At the very least, Kadri is a shootout expert.
His presence in the shootout could get the Leafs quite a few extra points.

K.. ill take that bet if there is an 82 game season.

60/82 = .732

I'll bet that he averages .732 ppg if there isn't 82 games.

Wonder if there is any possibility of an amnesty clause in the new CBA. I could see the Canucks using it on Luongo, thereby making him a free agent and allowing him to sign anywhere he wants.

I would be happy with 40-50pts if he plays a full 82 games. I mean he's played maybe 50 games total scattered over 2-3 years.

I'd like to see him take over MacArthurs wing spot this year, or Kulemins and Kuli drop to the 3rd line.

Ill take that bet as long as you say he will play 90% of the games. I don't doubt Kardis skill level. But he has a poop ton of work to do before being a solid nhler.
