Booth=Lupul

30 Goal seasons booth=1 lupul=0
60pt seasons booth=1 lupul=1

Booth and Lupul both make roughly the same in salary but Lupul is in for a big payday after this season while booth is locked in a his contract for a few more years.

Both players have been threw numerous injuries that may have slowed them both from reaching there full potential but both (especially lupul with his blood infection and booth with concussion and acl/mcl ) have found a way to battle back time after time and still be top6 players on just about every team

Also here's my luongo proposal:

To TML:
Luo
Raymond
Ballard

To Van:
Lombardi
Ashton
Franson
MacArthur

So you're going to offer Kulimen, Kadri and a 2nd but there is no way you give up that first round pick or Gardiner for that matter...

Do you know that Schenn was picked well ahead of Gardiner in the same draft? Would you trade Schenn ( top five pick ) straight up for Lou? How about the aforementioned Kadri straight up? ( 7th overall)

What is so appealing about a first round pick that we should give up Luongo for? Morgan Reilly? I wonder if he'll be as good as Schenn? You think with Lou in net and all that other greatness on the Leafs the Nucks will land McKinnon?

Maybe we can pick another Jiri Tustly.....

I tell you this much, I'd trade Luongo for a 1st if it was the guaranteed 1st overall pick ( if not there would be conditions). Luongo has a much better record that 1st overall picks ( Rick DiPietro ) and a higher rate of success than top 5 picks.

Worried about the length of the contract? There will be plenty of teams looking to take that cap hit during the later years when the trade options open up.

And Leaf fans are patient?? Good god. Unbelievably stupid start to finish.

IMO we have nothing great right now, We have nothing great to look forward to Kessel and Lupul are topped out right now, he wave (frank) all in nets IMO....I would trade reilly in a second for an elite goalie with 4-5 years left in eliteness.....

Schenn was taken way too early and you know it, and Kadri hasn't really panned out. There is a huge difference. You ask anyone who they would rather Gardiner or Schenn and see how many say Gardiner. And as of right now you don't know if we are being locked out, that could mean that our pick is Nathan Mackinnon because we would have 3 balls in the lotto for lack of playoff appearances and lack of first overall picks if we were to go by the rules of the previous lockout. I am not taking that chance.

Wrong on both.

That kid just needs some time and positive reinforcement by the right coach. Wait until he's 29, he'll be a very good shutdown defenseman!!

Maybe he was rushed?? MAybe he wasn't coached properly??

And none of that means he was picked too high.

Too slow and predictable.. Makes bad decisions with the puck. I'll miss him, he'll be good. But Myers, Karlsson, Del Zotto, and Carlson are better.

Yeah, Maybe..... but none were rated even close to #5. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, makes everyone look like a genius.

I think I would prefer to play with the young goalies that we have.. maybe trade for a center. Grab Mackinnon in the draft, and worry about making the playoffs when there is another full season to play.

Kadris' working hard, good for him!

As for Vancouver and Louongo...........who wants to have $6million in goaltending sittIng on the bench every game! They are backed into a corner and all the pressure is on them!

Getting Kadri into the best physical condition will boost his confidence and overall psyche in the way he plays the game. We WILL see a new revamped Nazem Kadri ...The shootout specialist I may add.

You do understand the difference between past, present, and future, right? All of that happened in the past - super, and good for him.

Present - he's been knocked out of his starting job by a younger netminder, has told the media that it's time to move on, holds a NTC, and is 34 years old.

Future - he's signed until he's old enough to be a grandfather, during which time his play will certainly fall off from all the wonderful things you've mentioned in your ridiculously biased post.

Bottom line - he's worth nowhere near what Vancouver fans think he is, but is worth a bit more than what other fans think. If he's traded it will be for an "okay" return.

Let's try this, if Lou was in the exact same position - but in Toronto - how much would you, if you were Mike Gillis, be willing to give Burke for Luongo?

I'll answer for you....Ballard and Raymond...
