Wait you mean he was lying when he said he would have taken Reilly #1 overall? - wolfos412
Of course he would have!

I may be reading this wrong, but Frattin is 24 years old, and has 2 years of NHL experience, meaning he would have to clear waivers to go to the Marlies. - Atomic Wedgie
Yeah thats why I originally thought he wasn't waiver eligible. but, im not sure if it's 2 years experience and 60 games played. Even then, he's only 3 games away anyway |

Yeah, Connolly had some points playing with those guys. He could get another shot for sure.
But then, what to do with Bozak? 4th line centre?
MacArthur-Bozak-Kulemin 3rd line
Steckel-McClement-Brown 4th line? - t_leafs21
We already have 9 3rd/4th line centres.
One will have to be traded/scuttled/disappeared/Marlie'd.
I was pretty impressed with Steckel for the first 10 games or so (maybe 20? Can't remember). But after he got his finger injury, he was just awful - it baffled me that they kept him in the lineup instead of letting it heal properly.
But with McClement coming in, I'd say Steckel and/or Bozak is expendable.
Which is good, because the Leafs need some new tape. |

OK, just looked it up - for players over the age of 20, AHL games (regular season and playoffs) count.
Frattin can't go down without waivers.

According to the guide I cited, it's also a matter of whenever you meet either threshold.
Not that it matters - Frattin has reached both thresholds.
He ain't no Marlie no more. |

Kadri is still entry level, so he is two way? Is that not exempt from waivers? |

Two-way contracts have absolutely nothing to do with waivers.
It merely determines how much salary you get in the NHL and the AHL. |

Yes, but I thought the two way contracts didn't have to clear waivers, it was only the one way contracts. I wasn't aware of this time limit in games played over 20. |

Weird question for all:
Kadri played one game with the Leafs in 2009-10 - without a contract.
How did the Leafs accomplish that one? |

Incorrect.
But don't beat yourself up too bad - it seems like half of NHL fans believe this.
And Phil Collins never invited the guy who witnessed his best friend drowning to a show, and sang "In the Air Tonight" to him, and then the guy committed suicide. |

I got so angry because my girlfriend's dad was trying to say that was all a true story, when in reality it was Phil just freestyling over a drum beatbox when he was extremely angry about his divorce. |

And the saddest part? You can't say the kid learned it at the trailer park - he's sitting in $1,000 seats.
But it does raise an interesting question - why do Americans get so upset about someone "flipping the bird?" I mean, they go so far as to blur it on that Aerosmith video, just to name one example.
It's OK to have people killing each other on prime time TV, but no rude finger gestures, OK? That would corrupt our children forever. |

Still think the opening lineup will be
Lupul - JVR - Kessel
Kadri - Grabo - MacArthur
Kulemin - Bozak - Frattin
Steckel - McClement - Brown
odd ones in and out will be Connolly, Lombardi, Komarov
Line 1 - Pure offence. JVR will be fine at centre. The three will have the offensive weapons to hem people in. People will question their defensive capabilities, but at the same time, JVR is more talented than Bozak, and we went a season with Bozak at -28.
Line 2 - Kadri will play with Grabo and Mac for two reasons
1. Grabo is defensively responsible and will help Kadri with that portion of his game
2. Kadri has great hands and can pass, setting up Grabo and Mac for goals
Line 3 - Kule and Frattin are great third line guys. Frattin shouldn't be on the second line. He just doesn't have the offensive talent for it. What Frattin can do is throw the body, and chip in with some scoring now and then. Real liability is Bozak, is he capable of handling third line duties? If not, he'll be swapped out for Connolly.
4th line is a grinder line. Komarov and Lombardi will be thrown in when there are injuries, or when the line has a bad game.

While you are here all day keeping those lemmings in check.
I am guessing the bloggers actually don't get paid too much (depending on hits % I suppose). I am also guessing no one will give a figure
