I didn't. I said stop sending him down because he's not a point per game player. He plays 12 games and gets 5 points and its like "he's terrible, he's not ready!" Even though he's drawn 2 penalties and been the most creative guy on the ice all game - t_leafs21
as long his attention to D has improved I am all for it (apparently Eakins has ingrained that into him so here's hoping).. I also think Carlyle will give him a fresh start.
I just hate the idea of not having room for Frattin.. I mean.. in a year Mac will no longer be under contract so that hole will open...
in a year connolly is off the books, so is lombardi...
speaking of.. lockout years.. does that void a year of the contract? would it mean both connolly and lombardi would no longer be leafs? |

It's something that will have to be re-written into the CBA, but that's the way it worked last time, and there is no reason to believe it won't be the same this time. |

The problem is Kadri is always the victim of teh numbers game. He'll go down cause Frattin has to clear waivers now - t_leafs21
he does? why? he's only played 6 more games than Kadri in the NHL |

well that would be a pleasant bonus of a lockout year.. not having to see those two suit up in the blue and white again |

It's amazing how the Leafs can have far too little talent, and yet not enough space for guys.
Connolly will not be below McClement.
I'm going to guess Kulemin starts on the 3rd line.
Steckel is probably going to be the odd man out with McClement in the line-up.
And if the current CBA negotiations take a turn for the worse (almost a certainty), I wouldn't be surprised if Komarov stays in Europe for the year. Although I think he would be much better served playing in the A. - Atomic Wedgie
Well they signed McClement saying he's a 3rd line C with speed and skill and is a quiet leader. Im pretty sure they want Steckel in the lineup at all times cause of his size and faceoff ability. It also boosts the PK being able to put each of them on different units |

Well...He's 24 with 2 years of experience, and he's played 57 games. So i think he still is okay, but 3 games into the season he'll hit the mark and have to be put on waivers
Kadri is 22 and has played 50 NHL games, so he still has 20 games left |

connolly spent time on the 4th last year did he not?
McClement will most likely be used on whatever the main shutdown line is.
Thats my guess anyways.
Underscore on the guess part. |

Yeah I agree. So I would really like Kadri-Grabo-JVR as the 2nd line
MacArthur-McClement-Kulemin as the 3rd line/shutdown unit that can still produce some goals
Yeah me too. I had to look it up lol

actually those arent bad lines for 2 and 3. ... well.. depending on JVR proving himself as a true top 6 and Kadri being able to make the jump and be consistent of course |

I don't hate that idea.
And if it was up to me, I'd plunk down Connolly at #1 C and pray to the ghost of Spinner's Dad that he figures it out.
Is it a bat-poop crazy idea? Yes.
Is there the huge possibility that it doesn't work? Yes.
But is it a worse idea than throwing Bozak there again? Heck no, it is not. |

JVR will be a top 6 forward for sure. You know he can score goals, and he's pretty big and lanky, he just causes poop infront of the net. I think he'd be an awesome winger for Grabo. I think he'll be a solid pickup, he's young and wil fit in well
I don't think so. I think the realisical rehab was set for late October. Although there won't be a camp anyway |

actually i'd switch kadri and kulemin
and you know what sucks? there doesnt seem to be a spot for Frattin.
i'm going to guess that kadri and frattin battle it out for that second line right wing slot. - Dozzer
Last year, from the beginning of training camp, to the end of preseason, Kadri and Connolly were hurt, and Macarthur was suspended (for a couple of games). 3 games after returning from suspension, Macarthur was hurt. That same game, Colby Armstrong was hurt.

Yeah, Connolly had some points playing with those guys. He could get another shot for sure.
But then, what to do with Bozak? 4th line centre?
MacArthur-Bozak-Kulemin 3rd line
Steckel-McClement-Brown 4th line? |

I may be reading this wrong, but Frattin is 24 years old, and has 2 years of NHL experience, meaning he would have to clear waivers to go to the Marlies. |
