Funny, because we've been hearing that he should've taken Seguin, Larsson and Murray for months now. - Morris

That's a good idea, but a better idea would be to assign all picks based upon proximity to the CN Tower. - Atomic Wedgie
Agreed. Farthest away is at the biggest disadvantage and will pick first.

They did it with Crosby so I don't see the big deal. Plus not showing the actual lottery draw always makes it suspicious. - Puckers
You're accusing the NHL of fraud. Got anything other than 'it was a nice coincidence for the league' to back that up? |

hey Ek, you may wanna use the "agenda glasses," that you so often talk about.
why not do a bit of superficial analysis on this proposal?
this is OBVIOUSLY another NHLPA tactic to divide the rich and poor teams. divide and conquer. somehow, i think bettman and the NHL will see through this even if you don't. |

Those in the know, know he was the best player in the draft and should have been taken 1st overall. |

Nope. It was a really, really, really nice coincidence for the league. That is all.

We've actually drafted more Defensemen than any other position since the lockout. We do seem averse to using top picks on them like literally no other team in the league, but we do have some serviceable prospects coming through. Like you said, it's all about those 2nd rounders. - Morris
Let's see if they are good enough to make an impact, or you may end up trading one of the top picks for some help.

That's insane! The Leafs, Canadians, Rangers etc. will never ever be able to get the #1 overall pick.... EVER. That's rewarding failure and punishing success. So stupid. Not to mention drafting #1 overall doesn't mean increased profit. - wolfos412
So this is a bad idea because it rewards failure and punishes success.
What, pray tell, does a draft in which the weakest team selects first (five-team lottery permitting), and picks are assigned thereafter in reverse order of finish, do again?
All this does is change the definition of success and failure.
Edit: It's still a dumb idea, but the reasoning given here isn't why. |

That's why I always wear my tie barely tied. You never know when an impromptu barn fight is going to occur and you need to get that tie off quick or it will be used to your opponent's advantage. |

We will see. They're all being given time to develop, which is weird because apparently the Oilers never do that with players.
