1) Just a month from training camp, and the hard questions haven't had to be answered. Does Scott Gomez need to be dealt with before a new CBA is in place?

Like Bergevin said, this is a new start, everybody is going to get a fair chance to prove themselves. I do think he will drop him down to the AHL, with Molson's approval.

2) What are reasonable expectations for Brian Gionta this season? Can he rebound from this brutal injury and put up his best season as a Canadien?

If he stays healthy, yes. I think he was missed last season, he can score 25 goals regularly.

4) If Cole took a step back to where his career average is (around 25 goals) would anyone really be disappointed?

25 goals would be acceptable...less than that, I don't know...depends if he stays healthy or not

8) Gomez is one problem. Kaberle is the other. What are the Canadiens going to do with him?

I'm afraid they are stuck with him, who knows, maybe if he trains hard during the summer...I'll wait and see how rosey his cheeks are before making an opinion.

9) If you had to pick a kid off the farm that you believe is ready to make the jump, who is it?

It has already been said, but if someone does it, it would be Gallagher, though I think it would be better for him not to jump ahead, and play one season in the AHL first. Depends on the role they would give him in the NHL.

Desharnais is a 78. Gomez is better.

As much as I hate Gomez, the expectations are so low for him right now, that he can't do nothing but surpass them

As for Subban, I can understand why he would want a deal similar to Pacioretty's and Price's, even though those two guys had a previous 2 year deal before their big payday.

Subban has already proved he belongs at the VERY LEAST in the top 4 defensemen. When they got their 2 year deals, Pacioretty was a call-up and Price had took the goaltender role by default with the Halak deal.

Finally, Kaberle as bad as he is in his zone, can't hurt much as a 6-7th d, with the 2nd powerplay QB role.

That's not saying I wouldn't get rid of him and Gomez if it's a possibility, but the team don't really need the cap space, so if there's a role to be found for them, as small as it could be, no point in buying them out.

If Subban wants a deal similar to Price's, he should check the one he signed 2 years ago, 2 years 5.5M.

Spacek is still a UFA.

Give him a 3 year deal with a 3.6M average.

Ok 2nd-3rd pairing dman.

I'm hoping he takes a step forward for his second season.

It's nice to see him hit but he was out of position way too much.

I hope he gets paired with Markov and he shows him the ropes.

Because before cashing in, even if he was the undisputed #1 goalie on the team, Price signed a 2 years contract to prove he deserves such a deal. Subban should do the same IMO.

If there is a season, Gomez will be on the starting day roster.

uhhh buyouts count against the cap, expect to see Gomez in Alaska of the ECHL
- braidan

If they lower the cap as expected, there is a good chance there will be a buyout window (I hope anyway).

This. Can't expect the team to work in a new system with salaries they "may not have taken".

Even though part of me kinda wishes the owners would be stuck with these stupid contracts they've given over the years....

If he takes just one second of Eller's ice time as the #3 center... I'll throw my fake brick at my tv several times.

Nah just the one, getting up and picking it up is good for my health.

Edit: I usually do this exercise several times per game.
