I doubt the election of a PQ government would dramatically change the complexion of Montreal. It is what it is, a multicultural city. No law could ever change that.

Hell, they can't even enforce the language laws that are currently in place... It's all posturing for the die-hard separatists. Nothing more.

I think you're being a bit naive. But hey, what do I know - I live in a different (frank)ed up country altogether.

I'm awaiting the poopfest the US elections will bring. They just do things better there. It's like watching Big Brother except it's real and the winner will rule the free world.

The thing is, it seems the traditional voting base is now fragmented between 3 options. The PQ, Québec Solidaire and now, Option Nationale (the latest just received a vote of confidence from Parizeau).

I don't think Pauline wanted to put the separation at the forefront of her campaign as much as she was forced to do it because of said fragmentation of her own voting base.

The storm is getting in the way for Romney. I was impressed with his CBS interview yesterday. He actually went out on a limb re abortion. Will probably cost him some hard line votes, but on the other side it will bring in some independents for sure. Either way, it's a poop show.

hmm why would that be? what are the alternatives? not voting (effectively voting for Obama) or voting for Obama. or is Ralph Nader running again?

Perhaps not voting. Perhaps there will be a tea partier in there to vote for.

My wife was there last night. Front row. Her sister's new BF is the President of Citizen USA. They are the "official timekeeper". Ridiculous seats. If he wins today, I may go see the next match.

I agree completely. That's why I would have a very difficult time voting here.

The CAQ woman was 30 mins late and read her photocopied text on each and every question. Never smiled, never made eye contact with the crowd.

I feel cheap but I LOLed when the independant guy answered the question about local transportation. He started to rant about his stepsister being sick and who needs transportation and he said that sometimes she has to do co-voiturage WITH PEOPLE SHE DOESN'T KNOW!!!

I still feel cheap

It's not like the PQ never was in power before.

I'll tell you what's going to change if they win this time. Nothing.
