Well, some of these junior teams are making great profits, and some people (mainly agents, of course) think that the players are getting screwed.

Gilles Courteau (QJMHL's commissioner) said yesterday that every team invests an average of 30 000$ per player per year in equipment, travelling, insurance, training, special programs, correspondence courses, etc.

Meh, if they want to manage this DEVELOPMENT league like a business, I find it normal that the players would want to be represented like in a business.

They moved all the teams from the metropolitan area to citys all over quebec and maritimes.

This results in more time of traveling for the players but more money for the owners.

And still find a way to pay Russian players hundreds of thousands of dollars to come play for them.

They want all the advantages of the pro leagues, but none of the inconvenient.

Some teams make a lot of money (Moncton, Halifax, Québec) but some have trouble staying afloat (Val-D'or, Rouyn, Acadie-Bathurst, Baie-Comeau )

You're talking about the bigger markets though Marty.

Not every market can pay themselves a Grigorenko or a Barbatchev.
