I wish he was playing LB for the Eagles. He's a beast. Love me some Grossmann.

I don't know what point you're making by posting that overrated lowlife's picture.

If football wasn't a glorified track and field event i would still have the passion.

I've never been a fan of the sport, and never will be. It just doesn't interest me.

I can't say I'm reconsidering my fandom. At the same time, I can't promise my interest won't dwindle should a lockout drag on.

i no doubt will still read and keep up but my interest will dwindle.

I miss NHL being on ESPN. Clement and Thorne were my favorites.

I really can't say for sure. It's different this time around than in 2004 for me. I was a high school student who wasn't as invested in sports then. Now, I'm a nine to five schlub who makes an effort to watch 82 regular season games every year. I can't predict how enthused I'll feel should the season opener be delayed significantly. Again, though, I'm not the kind of fan the NHL will lose sleep over should there be a lockout.

so funny that they are both still on the NHL videogames. especially since, as far as I know, Thorne has nothing to do with actual hockey these days

I've heard Gene Hart. He is on another level when it comes to announcing the game. Never be another voice like that.

What do you think of the guys we have now? Jones, Jackson and Coatsey?

my mom had him as a teacher at Lenape highschool. The stories she tells about him are great. Guy used to give them extra credit for writing recaps on the games! Why couldn't I have a teacher like that!

That's classic. That's the problem with schools today it's all about the classroom and not enough outside the school.

I thought Jonesy was great when he started, lately I think he's stretched too thin and forced to resort to cataldi esqe analysis. Coatsey don't when to STFU, Jackson gets sidetracked during games with dumb poop.

I agree. Coatsey talks about crazy stuff. JJ is such a homer. Jonesy voice is annoying and cant stand him talking.

Nothing special as a group.

Imagine forgetting to do some major assignment (I did that at least once a week in HS, never write stuff down) and having a teacher come in to class being all jet-lagged and tired from doing a double overtime playoff game, then saying ahh what did you kids think of the game? Not giving a damn who did homework and who didnt! That wasn't a regular occurrence but it happened.

I like JJ's work quite a bit. I prefer Jones on his NBCSN studio commentary to Flyers' booth work (I thought Dornhoefer was unfairly maligned). Coatsey is Coatsey... I grew up with him in various broadcasting contexts (Pepsi Postgame Show voiceover in 1980s, radio commentator, TV broadcast booth, studio, ice-level commentator) and I know he's kind of an acquired taste.

I liked coatsey on the radio. I remember when they brought him to TV. think that was the game where the Flyers passed up on Pavel Bure and he torched them in a game against Florida. I was at a bowling alley and people were flipping out about him It was like nails on a chalkboard. He's gotten better for TV tho.
