I see Hall as an Iggy type player. Iggy's upside when he came to Calgary was his speed. (assuming) we have a season, who's he on a line with?
Hall needs to learn how to fall better after a fight...

- geta02it

iggy has a fukin mean streak.
how many superstars out there will drop mitts to defend some 4th line kid?

ill agree to give hall some time before i say it'll never happen. but im not sure u can teach iggys mean.

let me be perfectly clear though. huge fan of hall and his style. stoked hes an oiler. just think he'll be a little more skill than brute.
if hall could be the next iginla??!!! wow, that would be something.

Lucic and RNH are from Vancouver. How do you think it feels watching these local boys dominate on another team?
- bloatedmosquito

not good is my first guess!

rnh is the true first line center the oilers have been looking for, for 10 years.
somethin pretty special about that kid.
ill cry my eyes out if he leaves.

i hate that picture!

from edm and lived in van for a pretty long time.
forgetting the fact that hes already from here, vans an effin great city and it wouldnt be completely shocking to see him wanna go home.

but i think the type of person he seems to be, along with what the oilers seem to be building through these kids, im confident he'll be in blue and orange for awhile.

The Oilers should wait to sign Eberle until after his value comes down. Shooting percentage is not some made-up stat, and Eberle's was through the roof last year. Wait until he puts up 26 goals and 58 points this season to sign him long-term, not coming of his unsustainably great season

he cant sustain 30+ goals and 75 points?? u dont watch much of him do you?
this isnt some mediocre player that caught fire randomly at 28.
hes a clutch, blue chip, barely 22 year old that tore it up in his second season.

his value wont be going down

I think its in the oilers best interest to sign him now if not some team like the shames might try and give him an offer sheet

Eberle will get same $$$ per but with a shorter term. Probably a 5 year deal.

Richard Cloutier: Hall of a Contract. Now Time for the Eberle

Total NHL 126gp 49g 46a 95p -12

I find it astonishing teams are willing to commit 7 years at 6 mil per, for players who have yet to prove their staying power in the NHL. I get that Oilers fans have been jacked up on that "potential" factor for awhile, but this contract just sets the stage for the possibility of a complete disaster in Edmonton.

As a comparison, Toews was the same age, had played a full season plus 60 some odd in his rookie year, had 10 more goals, 19 more assists, was a +23, and signed for 2 years less when he got his extension.

Fantastic.

He's a Hawk for a while and Hall is an Oiler for a longer while.

Everyone is happy.

Not trying to be a troll, but 6 million for a player who has never eclipsed 30 goals and has averaged 46 points. Yes he is young, but I would have thought his injury past would have factored into a little discount.

i mean no disrespect to Hall when i say this, but Iggy knows how to use the muscles that stop the legs from moving......he knows where the breaks are....and is essentially damn near an ironman.....in which case no matter how good and similar to Iggy he may be offensively it wont matter if he's injured alot (which is what it looks like)

of course there's also Iggy's mean streak as mentioned previously, im not sure about Hall in a fight either, and even if he can fight, the coaches dont need to cringe when Iggy fights/fought

plus isnt it Iggy's specialty his snap shot? or his shot in general? not his speed....which is 110% Hall, i dunno is that really how it was back then? Iggy came in like Hall...with jus speed? i wonder about that

When he is actually in the game, which has failed to do at least 15 games per year.
