No disrespect meant to the few good writers on that site but most of the writers are meh. and second of all, how is that "fact". where is it proven outside of Hockeyinsider said it?

Anyone who references HockeyInsider is incredibly naive--so it's not surprising Bleacher Report would do that.

95% of these "insiders" aren't even close to what their credentials say they are.

The latest insider "rumor" going around is Read for Cody Franzon. I swear, these guys just pick random players and throw their names out.

actually I'm not sure if that guy is a source they actually allow. I hated doing those stinking rumor articles but during the internship I did for them I got tons of them assigned to me. Thing is they are actually strict about the sourcing in their guidelines but it depends on the editors discretion. I never even heard of Hockey insiderr while writing for them but I can tell you another "insider" got completely blocked from writing for them because he did the same stuff.

Imo what they care about is drawing reads first and foremost. Lot of nice people over there and writers who really try their best, just have to be selective with that site because its pretty much open as long as you can pass the screening process.

Shane Doan reportedly has a four-year, $30 million offer on the table from the Buffalo Sabres. According to ESPN's John Buccigross, the Phoenix Coyotes are prepared to only go up to a two-year deal right now. Free agency has been put on ice lately while labor talks are in full swing, so there hasn't been much news or movement on Doan front.

To be crystal clear (reference to Tom Cruise, A Few Good Men) - is there a list of pre-approved posters that are allowed to post rumors without sources?

I am not sure if I am on the list, but I set the odds on 40% yes, 60% no.

I don't have a problem with the deal if from a team on the verge of a cup.

But for the sabres, this isn't aggressive. It's dumb.

Buffalo has been solid the past few years and last season they took a step backwards. I expect them to be better this year (if no lockout).

What's brutal, the Sabre's offer? I agree.

Thanks for your hockey analysis and opinion - fun to discuss. But maybe you want to elaborate your comments so those that are a little slower (i.e. me) can follow along.

Cheers!

In my humble, hockey opinion, the Sabres aren't that close to a cup. They have a bunch of fine talented players on the team, but they are still behind the Rangers, Caps, Flyers, Pens, Canes, Devils maybe, etc.

They may even be behind TB, a team which I believe will be a surprise team. They have the best goal scorer in the league, and they added one of the top puck moving d-man as well. Goalie - another issue.

That is 100% impossible and I can prove it. Daigle is WAAAY too lazy to type those extra y's and r's.
