Paul Ranger signed with the Marlies. - clarkysduster
Yeah, saw that. Good pickup: guy helps Marlies run to Calder regardless; maybe even cracks the Leafs roster at some point. He's 27, so not exactly done and Poulin said he could still "fly" when he watched him skate the other day, so who knows? |

Zero risk signing. I like it. Tampa's gonna be a lit butthurt about it, though (justifiably so). |

St. Louis et al were pretty happy about the whole thing; guess he's a really solid guy, really well liked in the dressing room. |

I wonder if his meltdown was actually girlfriend related or maybe something more serious (drugs/depression/etc)
I know the tampa fans thought highly of him before he left. |
|
|
|
Why would they handle it any differently than they did the last time? Pretty much any way you cut it, the Leafs would get a great draft pick and at worst would get great odds at getting a great draft pick all without having to actually endure watching them lose game after game. - Two_For_Truth
Because this time they don't have to save the Penguins franchise. |

Definitely not drugs; refuted by several sources close to him. Could've been depression, and I also heard he wasn't "in it" and had talked about going back to school. But having said that, they're saying that he wouldn't have came back if he wasn't 100% behind it. |

Just wouldn't be right if they weren't in the top 5 again. |

Can never have enough top 5 picks, looks like they are taking the Nordiques route to franchise building... |

The thing I like about Lupul is he just takes it one shift at a time, and focuses on doing the little things right. - Atomic Wedgie
You can really see how he thinks the game he has great vision and anticipation.
He also helps you get to the cap floor. |

How many players were getting 100 million dollar deals prior to the last lockout?
Maybe because the teams that are already having a really tough time surviving finally die? Maybe? - Two_For_Truth

The Leafs give Bettman unquestioned and unlimited revenue sharing.
Bettman gives the Leafs MacKinnon.
Or McDavid.
Or both. |
