not sure if he would be at a PPG pace like he was, but 65-70 points over 82 games isnt a stretch either, with the possibility of hitting PPG..
He was drafted 7th overall and was always seen to be a great player, injuries just screwed him up - peddy-93
Yeah, Anaheim gave up on him pretty quick huh? Definitely a fair price for a player of that caliber. If he becomes a PPG player, then hey may even be a bargain.

Ducks were happy to let him go, Carlyle's system he just didn't fit in......Here we go again? Doubtful but who knows.

I'm really curious as to how Carlyle's system works out in TO. Many players that don't seem to 'fit' into it. It would make me uncomfortable if I were a leaf fan. Then again the last style didn't suit you guys too well either and more defensive stability I'm sure will definitely be welcome by Leafs fans.
The upside is If he want's out we know right away trying to extend him early right?
His contract won't be a circumvention or 10yr 100 million, If he holds up his PPG this year then we throw some cash and years his way, If it goes south we ship a PPG player out at the deadline if he won't resign.
At this point I love the way he plays, If he only plays 65 games a year and gets 65 points a year 5-6M he is worth in my mind anyways, So it really is a tough decision.

If they fire Burke I would bet Carlyle will be going with him so this year should def tell the tale.... If there is hockey that is.

ya no doubt, and what makes it worse is they gave us gardiner to get rid of his contract

I sure don't see alot of defensive type players on the team as of right now.

Burke fleeced his old team, plain and simple, he knew the ducks system and took advantage of it.... That's why we won't see a trade for Ryan, Getzlaf or the waterboy until Burke is gone.....

we'll lose 5-0 to you guys instead of 7-0, improvement
6 years seems to be the preferred term leading up to September 15th with Hartnell, Simmonds and Pacioretty all signing 6year deals this week ranging from $4M to $4.75M.
