It's about the timing of the trade, and whether he had a no-trade clause in place at all. I believe he only had a NTC in his final season. The Ducks will be arguing that they traded Lubo before his final season had begun.

That might work for the Islanders... you can fit all the season ticket holders into your backyard and discuss your idea of boycotting the team this year... but teams like Vancouver and Toronto who have thousands and thousands of people on the season ticket waiting list who have money, time and motivation to pay whatever it takes to get a chance at season tickets. The organization would turn around and contact those fans on the waiting list and would snatch those tickets up in a heart beat.

Coming from a Thrashers fan this is pretty great.

I love all the same teams' fans take shot at the Islanders. It must really kill Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, etc. that the Islanders have only been in the league since 1972 and they have four cups. Yep... 4 in 40 years. I understand it has to be upsetting to you... Sorry.

I know this isn't about the blog but where we are facing another lockout while the fans will suffer again. To bad that all the season ticket holders could not get togetehr for each city and not go for 10 games or whatever the number. That could only happen in a perfect wold. Show the millionairs that they are fed up with high ticket prices outrageous consession prices. I know it won't happen just a very frustrated fan. Owners can't live with a cap they cut each others throat and in 4 years they will be facing this all over again. Ok sorry I am done rantng have a good day everyone

Last I checked PS3 costs more than a Suxbox...

Just like the Leafs, the Isles haven't been relevant in years...
The Isles had one period of dominance in 40years, from 1979-1983 (4 seasons). I didn't look, but I would care to wager that they have had more terrible years in the last 40, than good years...

Eklund, really, this is all compulsory.

The title of this blog should be renamed to CANCEL ALL HOCKEY SEASON TICKETS.
Forget your trade rumors and questionable sources. Here's a chance to really do something to make a difference.
All the Bloggers on this site should only be permitted to post blogs that list the telephone #'s of every NHL team sales office and future postings should be of a competition to see which fan base can cancel their teams ticket sales first.

Seriously. If all NHL tickets were returned and the NHL had NO revenues pre paid for a season they're threatening to cancel, I think the owners might soften their stance. So, why don't we do them a favor and take the guess work and suspense out of it?
Imagine the price reductions and incentive packages the teams would offer if WE all turned on them and held back the money that pays all their bills and salaries?

We, the fans have a lot more power than we give ourselves credit for. Instead of speculating, opining and complaining all the time, how about WE DO SOMETHING with the aid of this techno wonder courtesy of Al Gore?

well considering the isles made a trade for a significant upgrade on defense 3 months ago and for all intents and purposes had a top 2 pairing defenseman spot locked up going into this season, to then find out the ducks traded a player they werent authorized to trade. if the trade is in fact rescinded, id think, being that the isles lost out on 3 months of free agency and trading, theyd get something other than the obvious 2nd round pick it took them to get visnovsky

That would be awesome, Would love to see all those millionaires squirm. It really is a good idea. If all the fans stood united and returned or cancelled all of the season tickets. You could shut them down .

They probably just get back their 2nd rounder if it was their '13 second rounder they traded (I forgot what year second rounder was traded). If it was their '12 second rounder, maybe they get a compensatory second round pick this coming draft?

That's a creative argument for more compensation, but something tells me that the Isles wouldn't get back more than their pick.
