Hey guys please check out this preview of the upcoming NHL 13. I thought it would be good since it might be the only hockey we see for a bit here.

dont buy it until season starts.
don't buy season tickets either. If everyone stayed away, they'd settle this thing quickly.

I think most on here get it.........its just hard to call out your own..
- kindlyrick

I don't agree with that. Most on here immediately go on the defensive. The guy has been calling it like it is for years now. It's just a matter of if people want to see what is right in front of their faces.

Your right. Larry is 100% right on the Islanders. This is how the rest of the league views the Islanders. It's sad but true.
- ses111

Reality. If people can't see how the rest of the league and most of the fan base views this team, Wang, and Snow then they are clueless.

So true........like him or hate him Larry Brooks calls it how it is. Visnovsky is the quintessential islander........3 million in salary for a 5.5 million cap hit. There's no better argument than the truth!
- kindlyrick

Larry's such a homer. And a blowhard. Never misses a chance to kick the Isles. If he had an ounce of journalism in his blood, he would have reported Lubo's car crash along with hearing announcement. He's too busy daydreaming of Matteau, Mess, Richter and Graves.

Even the Devils and Phoenix with all the money troubles try to bring in players.

There's no credibility with most sports writers. Larry's as fair weather as they come. Bloggers are mostly opinion machines and everyone believes entirely what they read online. To the Isles fault, they are so closed-lipped about things that we are left to draw conclusions.

Homer or not the guy writes legitimate articles whether they paint the Isles in a good light or not there is a lot of truth behind them. Truth hurts and a lot of people just don't want to accept it or for the younger fans just don't know any better. They think this circus is OK when in reality it's a joke.

I agree with this and I'm no fan of Brooks but unfortunately for the most part he is spot on of his assesment of most things Islander related. There really is nothing left to defend at this point.

I dont agree with that..........the guy calls out Torts all the time. He's not a homer. Its the difference between an organization like the Rangers, who spend money on players, have winning coaches, and a GM who is respected around the league. Im a die hard Isles fan, but if i was a writer, i'd give it to them too!

I dont even think he's a homer. I think he calls it how he see's it. How can anyone even defend the isles? Even us fans know he's telling the truth

I gotta tell ya, i know he's the Rangers beat writer, but he calls it how it is. Even when it comes to his bashing of Torterella. The fact of the matter is, he chirps the islanders, because the islanders deserve to be chirped. It gets tiring after years of reading Newsday articles who are so middle of the road when it comes to the isles. Larry Brooks laughs at this organization and rightfully so...
- kindlyrick

Exactly!!! Staple is a joke. Brooks might be a cack but like you said he tells it like it is.

I have not been on here in weeks and I come back to a Larry Brooks love fest. Jeezus Christmas.. you guys are really losing it. Larry Brooks is a tool Ranger fan. He Writes with his Jersey on... Was he "spot on" when he wrote 5 articles about Zach Parise will fit perfectly on the rangers next year.... while the Devils were in the Stanley cup? How about when he wrote about Rangers Snagging Redden while the lowly Isles take Streit... the also ran? Snow signing Moulson was skoffed at b/c the Rangers had just signed Drury.. or whoever. He is a tool who hates the Islanders, Devils, and Flyers. Just b/c you guys are furious with the state of the Islanders (so am I)...doesn't mean any a$$clown who writes something negative about the Islanders is "telling it like it is".

oh yeah... Sather is guy every other GM aspires to be like... Sather's best job for the Rangers as a GM is still when he worked for the Oilers and traded the Rags... Messier, Graves, Bukeboom, tikanen, etc. His famous quote of "If I had the Rangers payroll I would win a cup every year." is still haunting him... how many years has he been there GM? 12+? How many cups? tougher to win without Great one I guess.
