As of right now, names on #Blackhawks side being discussed are Kane and Crawford; on #Sabres side Miller and Stafford. Picks involved also.
oh...that changes it all
honestly though, this team doesn't sniff 80 points without Miller |

Ya this would never happen and if this somehow happens it will be a nail in Darcys coffin. |

I don't trust any of these Tweets, but I do believe the Sabres are going to make one more trade for a scorer/center. So, anyone who thinks the current lineup is who they start the season with are wrong.
It would be fun to start a new twitter account and spew BS rumors based on other rumors and common sense. Not that hockeyyinsiderrr shows much common sense. |

Hockeyy Insiderr@HockeyyInsiderr is probably a 17 year old kid. We'd all be better off if no one posted his poop.

I would not be shocked if the lineup we have now is what we have for the start of the season however, if Darcy moves on a center it might be someone that we would have never thought of. Doesn't look like he will give up Ennis for Ryan. |

Crawford is horrible - SABRES 89
The only reason I could see the Sabres dealing Miller is if they know he won't re-sign with them and after this year he would be playing his contract out. The Sabres will be re-building or re-loading with Armia, Girgs and Grigs among others so maybe dealing him for an impact player now would be worth it. He won't be here when the Sabres are primed and ready to challenge in say three years, so deal him if he has value now....But, that won't happen but it's fun to ponder these things. |

The #Sabres on the other hand maintain contact with #Oilers re Gagner. Very interested in landing him if the price isn't too high.

I don't think anyone should be untouchable but if they move Miller we better have a good backup plan because some goalies only work in certain systems, we all know how Lindy is. |

They have the two tall goalies beginning their careers in Rochester this coming season Liewen(spell) and is it Knapp? Also, I have high hopes for the Swedish goalie they drafted. These three goalies are going to take at least 3 years to get close to being NHL goalies so Darcy is going to have to trade for one or sign one via FA. Enroth? Humm, he isn't a starter right now in my opinion. |

Not that we should are shouldn't but, Luongo makes 5.3 mill the only problem is it's for another 8 yrs I think. We save money moving Miller who is going to want more then what he makes(maybe) and atleast Luongo is locked at 5.3 and that's not to bad just the years are bad. |

Just to add fuel to the fire a bit. I'm not sure if many of you read Sabresfans.com but this was posted on June 25th by a guy who claims his Uncle has Sabres connections and Sam Gagne was mentioned over a month ago here. Take it for what it's worth>
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Feel free to take what I say with a grain of salt with rumor mongers like hockeyyyyy inderrrrrrr running around, I don't have sources all around the NHL, just an Uncle who works (now worked) for TBH in a non-sports related area that has befriended some higher ups within the Sabres organization and is told things from time to time.
With that disclaimer, I saw him at a family party last night and here are I guess some tidbits that he passed on to me that I've passed on to your guys. Some are more exciting than others and I'm sure there is plenty he doesn't get told about.
1. Matt Duchene is very much on their radar (as he was at the deadline) Colorado would much rather deal Stastny (no poop).
2. The Sabres are interested in acquiring a veteran forward (don't feel they can get Doan and aren't the team offering 4 years 30 mil). They have turned there attention to Brenden Morrow where I guess the asking price is not very high at the time. They had also tried to work him into the Ott - Roy deal but that was stalling things. **my speculation** if that is the case we could see a deal done soon, or maybe the Sabres are waiting to officially be out on Doan before exploring that avenue.
3. Keith Yandle is a guy who is out there and available that the Sabres have kicked the tires on. He may no longer be available however if the Coyotes aren't able to retain Doan as they would need his salary (and more) to get to the floor.
4. The Sabres will most likely not deal Leopold. He gives them much more value at 3 mil than he would return in a trade.
5. Pardy = MMoorriissoonn, he's headed to Rochester.
6. Sam Gagner is a player the Sabres have a lot of interest in and someone Edmonton is willing to deal, but with Ennis playing center, there might not be a spot for another smallest center (although Gagner is pretty tough for his size). One of the reasons Edmonton wanted to (and did) settle with Gagner before arbitration is to leave open the possibility of dealing him. **my speculation** perhaps if Grigorenko doesn't make the team or if Ennis struggles at center this is an early season deal that gets made.

disagree
I think we would get picks back in that trade and without the almighty one in net, Ruff might play enroth 35 games and crawford 45 games and the team might play better all around hockey
I think a trade like that makes us faster, younger and in many ways better |
