No, if the travel sched was bad enough with every team in the NA market, imagine having to cross an ocean.

I think that the SEL, KHL and NHL Champs should all have a mini tourney for bragging rights.

First I want to say that I have posted this idea about a dozen times but now it is screwed. Expansion to Europe is better than expansion to the US.

I say give them up to 8 teams. 2 Expansion and 6 relocation. Making a whole division. If they can persuade Phoenix, Florida, NYI... and others that complain about profit to move (which I am sure Russia can) then so be it. The qualifications for the cities would be the same as any other NHL team. It can be done so that teams that play them can do it with breaks a couple days in between. The flight is 9-11 hours. No different than Vancouver going to Florida really. Players now are use to night games and day games so the time difference is something they are use to.

Europe and Russia want hockey but we keep killing the sport to get americans to watch it. I am tired of them complaining about not having fans and getting TV coverage. Tired of losing good players to Russia. Lets have a league that showcases the best and that allows for real fans to enjoy it.

Europe isn't that far away. Our players have been there before and here is a shocker, some of the NHL players are from there and they fly back and forth all the time without it affecting their game.

32 teams? No fricken way. Get it down to 24 teams!!!! Eliminate:

-Columbus
-Nashville
-Phoenix
-Florida
-3 teams in California is one too many , so either San Jose or Anahiem goes bye bye.
-Sorry to all Canadian fans but unfortunatley one Canadian team must be sacrificed so Winnipeg must go.

Now change the playoff format back to original exciting 80's. the 1st place team place the 16th place team & so on.

THIS WOULD BE AN EXCITING NHL!!!!!

Winnipeg is going nowhere, neither are any of the Canadian teams. They've all got great fan bases, and committed owners. A team in Quebec City will happen way before this. Also, all three California teams do quite well I believe, so look elsewheres for that.

IMO, move Phoenix to QC and Dallas to Seattle and you'll be doing much better.
