Well? It's either a sprint into the playoffs, or to the bottom of the standings. We'll see what will happen, in a shortened season.
- PrinceLH

I would take 1 last season as a bottom feeder draft MacKinnon and get rid of most of the deadwood contracts. Then put us in a position to make a serious run at a playoff spot.

Bathurst plays Moncton tomorrow night in first game of Q X season...Luongo in town getting his # retired...he commented to press that he always loved bathurst and its fans because they supported him through good times and bad times no matter what....nice well deserved jab at certain idiot fans on other side of country

So we're currently looking at a full season of All Marlies All Day. Can't say I'm too upset, at least we get to watch hockey. On the bright side tickets are much cheaper so I may actually be able to afford to go to more than one game.

Scrivens must be holding out for a 1 way contract or else he would already be resigned or offersheeted...Burke must be hesitant to go with 2 young tenders again this season, so he's going to wait out the Scrivens signing until he decides on whether to trade for Luongo or not....this actually gives Gillis the leverage that Leaf fans say he doesn't have...thoughts?

At least the Marlies will be good, once the lockout starts. Already inquiring about getting a season ticket for my home town Belleville Bulls. If this is what we have in store, if there is a long lockout, the referees and administrators are going to be busy handing out justice to the posters, here at HB.

Yea it does, but it's costs less overall. Where you pay $120+ for the ticket at the leafs game on top of $20-30 worth of food and drink (maybe more if you're feeling giddy), the Marlies tickets are $30-40 cheaper so essentially you pay for a Leaf ticket that comes with 2-3 beers and a hotdog.

Trade rumors:

Fratten and Kessel for a 7th rounder. Then signing Johnny Bower to a 10yr 75 million dollar contract, puttin Colton Orr on the top line with Lupul & the 5 guys sharing that top center roll next season. Then when all thats done resign The incompetent Burke to another extention.

Either way, one must imbibe enough suds beforehand. Being on Bathurst and Lakeshore, I get to stumble minutes either way to ACC or Ricoh.

Scrivens has zero leverage. He has to sign no matter what, nobody's going to offersheet him, and Burke doesn't likely give a rats ass about a 1-way with him. If they don't trade for Luongo, Scivens will be in the NHL all year anyway.

Marlies tickets are $90-$110 dollars cheaper

Cheap seats $10, good seats are $35ish.

pay a bit more to sit by the glass, but you can't see poop from there anyway. Plus it's never full so buy the $10 and move - pretend it's Florida!

I went to a few marlies games against the wolves/moose over the past couple seasons. My wife is signed up for a website where they email you about 1 month before the game if it isn't sold out and you get tickets for 50% off.

This is off topic but WTF BURKE!! You've done NOTHING to improve the Leafs this summer. Ur a bum. You are a terrible judge of talent in today's NHL. I say we bring in Anthopolous.
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Cause AA has done such a great job.
Burke might know something we dont....besides why sign or trade for players when there most likely will not be season.
