Brodie is not going anywhere unless the return is high

Yeah, like I said. It's going to take more than Philly wants to give up. All of our good prospects are already starting.

And while I'm sure Brodie is going to be great and highly talented. We have our own guys who've already have more NHL seasoning already. Which is what we are looking for in a new Defensemen. Seasoned NHL experience.

What are Flames fans thoughts on John Gaudreau. He is a local kid (Southern NJ). I went to college with his older sister. He had a monster year with BC. Is he getting any love up there?

For what? Because I made a comment AFTER Flames fans had been dumping on Phaneuf?

*Realist. Brendan Smith is a stud defender, Kronwall is a beast, Ian White is solid, John Ericsson is getting better every year, Quincy is now familiar with the team and how we play and he will be solid this year, and Kindl is a question mark due to lack of experience.

Any Questions?

Detroit doesn't need help on D:
Krons-Smith
White-Ericsson
Quincey-Kindl

The only "weak" spot of the 6 is Kindl. I say we see how he plays up until the trade deadline, and if he flops, make a move. If not, then we save having to give up a bunch for Jay Bo.

Smith isn't a top pairing (yet).
White isn't a top 4 and neither is Ericsson on most teams.
Quincey is better than Smith, White or Ericsson.

I didn't think they had weed in detroit. What are you smoking dude?

5th seed that lost in the first round has lost their 2 best d-men and their 2nd leading goal scorer but should have no problem moving forward...mmmmkay

Losing Hudler is probably one of the best things that happened to the Wings this off-season. Somebody else will easily fill in for his production. I also wouldn't consider Stuart to have been our second best d men. That would be Kronwall.

And the Wings love pairing an older d man with a younger one, which is why I see Krons with Smith on the first pairing. I see Smith as the next Vladimir Konstantinov. Like I said earlier, Quincey didn't have many games to adjust to playing w/ the Wings last season, and I think his numbers will go way up.

I see the Wings finishing 4 or 5 again this season. We have a top 10 goalie, solid 1-4 forward lines, and 5 above average d-men, with Kindl being the only question mark.

So..... hearing this today, I no longer see an NHL season period....

At least 8, possibly 9 teams lost 20 million dollars last year alone. (Some more)

This is hidden by the Candian teams profit and those few USA teams that make profit as well.

The worst months are Oct to Dec when the NHL is going up against other NFL and others.

It is estimated that the teams that lost 20 million... will only lose 10 million if THERE IS NO SEASON.

They have no imputus to settle a deal but rather hold off the season.

I also see the WINTER CLASSIC as nothing more than an emotional chip to be played. The NHL will play it close to the heart-strings and make the NHLPA look bad.

In truth, the NHL can cancel the game up to 24 hours prior and only lose 100,000.

And there is nothing to saw the game will not be played the following year.

Anyways...............

No Season.

Not buying it. Two of those money losing teams paid a bunch of money to a few players this year. How can that be, particularly where one maybe both of those teams received NHL revenue sharing money. This system is broken but the owners created it. How can that happen, and the owners still complain. I am sure there will be a lockout of some length, but I am not sure how long or about the losses reported by the NHL.
