Phaneuf doesn't stand a chance.
- scootty

On the right side 'cause Weber, Doughty, Letang, Pietrangelo, Seabrook, Cambpell, Boyle, etc.
If he switch to Left side, he would have more chance at the moment.

I bet we see all three of RNH-Hall-Eberle there as a line. Remember back a couple of years ago they were really considering Penner because he had a great start to the year and he had chemistry with Getzlaf and Perry. They also took Thornton-Heatley-Marleau as a line. Chemistry will play big.

I bet they go with a lot of youth. Getz and Perry may not make it.

for 2018 sure, but in 2014? this as a line is very inexperienced, i say Ebs makes it and plays with Tavares, we know the magic those 2 have together..

Perry is a lock.

Getz? Not so much with the available C depth.

RNH would be great, but we need guys like Bergeron too. The guy just won a Selke for God's sake!

I think Seguin will be there as well.

He won base on reputation. Henrique, Toews and M. Richards are better options...

Toews and M Richards are pretty much guarantees, Henrique is very doubtful.

I think with goal tending situation being what is, a greater emphasis will be placed on defensively responsible forwards. It can't be all firepower.

We thought the Line of Jeff Carter, Ryan Getzlaf and Anthony Stewart would be great for years to come... We also thought Phaneuf was gonna better than Weber that year.

In all honesty Canada should be able to send an "a" and a "b" team...we'd have that much talent
- I-own_da-Northwest

Even Canada's "C" team wouldn't be that bad. I'd like to see the "C" team play USA's "A" team. Canada would probably lose due to the goaltending matchup, but it would be a good game.

Team Canada - A
Stamkos - Crosby - Giroux
Nash - Getzlaf - Perry
Sharp - Toews - E. Staal
Benn - B. Richards - Spezza

Weber - Doughty
Seabrook - Keith
Pietrangelo - Boyle

Price - Fleury - Ward

Team Canada - B
Marleau - Thornton - Heatley
Hall - Nugent-Hopkins - Eberle
Neal - J. Staal - Iginla
Skinner - Tavares - Henrique

Phaneuf - Letang
Green - Burns
Girardi - Staal

Smith - Luongo - Reimer

Team Canada - C
Bergeron - Lecavalier - St. Louis
Gagne - M. Richards - Carter
Hartnell - Couture - Doan
Smyth - Seguin - Briere

Hamhuis - Myers
Campbell - Bouwmeester
Subban - Wideman

Holtby - Bernier - Giguere

Team USA
Parise - Kane - Kessel
Brown - Stastny - Pavelski
Ryan - Kesler - Oshie
Malone - Backes - Callahan

Suter - Yandle
E. Johnson - J. Johnson
Shattenkirk - Byfuglien*

Quick - Miller - Schneider

*There are a lot of other worthy defensive options for USA (Carle, Wisniewski, Bogosian, Gilbert, Fowler, Goligoski, Martin, Liles). These are the 6 I would take if the Olympics started tomorrow.

Everybody who believed McGuire while watching U20 WJC in 2004 and 2005. They destroy the tournament if i remember correctly and they were even compare to have almost same size as Antropov, Sundin and Ponikorovski line.

That really was an amazing D. Weber, Nieds, Pronger, Doughty, Keith, Boyle. wow.

I think we'll see..
Weber-Doughty
Keith-Letang
Campbell/Staal-Pietrangelo

Pietrangelo is an emerging star on D. Letang's D game has improved tremendously in the last 3 years. I never liked him way back when because I thought he was just a PP guy, but he's improved a lot and even brings some grit. Staal is THE shutdown man and isn't horrible offensively, but Campbell can play good D and showed us in the playoffs this year how much of a factor he is on both ends of the ice- especially offense/PP. Green and Burns just aren't solid enough in their own end. Hamhuis.. unless he has a big year.. i just don't see it. Phaneuf could maybe be in the talks .. but again, will he be better all around than Campbell, Staal or Pietrangelo? maybe... idk.

Weber
Doughty
Keith
Letang
Campbell
Pietrangelo
Staal

i agree, he will be part of future team Canada olympic teams forsure, i think he ends up being the best player out of the Oilers 4..
- peddy-93

Doubt he makes 2014. Eberle's got the best shot outta the 3.

But long term....agreed

Thats only a season and a half away...Too many far more experienced players as good as those 3. Huge longshot at best.

And Perry's a lock
