What I'm confused about is why the Devils signed him now. The entry-level contracts could very well be extended under the new CBA, and certainly wouldn't be shortened.

Assuming he doesn't make the team he'll probably play around 5-10 games in Albany this year+playoffs if they get there. I don't see his team in the Q going very far into the playoffs .

It's an odd move. I remember they only signed Parise to a contract late in the season after they had drafted him and he had way more hype than this guy does.

They better not start becoming the Islanders here. But if they think he can play an NHL game, maybe they know something we don't.

When the new cba gets signed, your "team" may actually finally qualify for welfare. It;s not enough that Ranger fans fill your arena but they need kick backs too. Never should put a team in jerzee. Wonderful.

kids got size, grit and hopefully some skill as well. All things we need and if he has a good camp and a good 9 game stint (frank) it why not let him stick, We got plenty of vets up front to teach him the ropes. Thats all provided they feel he is ready though. Also he works out with Zubrus which can only help him.
