It was BS suspensions...just because he is 6'6" he gets penalized. No way he should have been suspended for that hit last year. Shanny is a joke! - Iggysbff
They are going to happen again. Either way he isn't play a full season, although many might not be. Heck if there is a lockout for 20-30 games does Sutton even play or just retire? |

Gagner for McNab AND a prospect ??
McNab is going to be a solid, solid D-man. If anything your proposal should have been Gagner and a prospect for McNab... - Pairo11
McNabb is GOING to be a solid d-man (3/4/5 range). Gagner IS a solid top 6 player. One is proven, the other is not. Sorry, but in terms of straight up value, I almost certain that Gagner is worth more. |

Wait, so you dislike a guy because he got suspended? You get suspended for being dirty. You're dirty by being tough (in this case). And isn't toughness exactly what we complain about our team needing every goddam year? Keep in mind, his height did play a part in at least one of those suspensions. |

It would take a good deal more than that. Think more along the lines of Gagner, Paajarvi, N. Schultz, and a 2nd. I wouldn't do that deal, but that's what they're likely looking for. - MaximumBone
I'm not a Bobby Ryan fan.
But If Gagner is a peice Anaheim wants then I'd do Gags, MPS, Pekham/Plante/Tuebert and a 2nd. Not N Schultz. |

Where did I ever say I disliked the guy? I said it's a gongshow or whatever because not 1 of those 3 players are a guarantee on any given night. Sutton could be suspended, Potter could be playing like an AHLer and Peckham can be playing like his vag is full of sand.
Without a true #1 or 2 on this team we need more out of our bottom pairing. |

Why trade Gagner or PRV for those kinds of trades? It's a terrible misuse of assets.
Gagner for Schneider on the other hand (which Clouts said he WOULDN'T do...) - Morris
For sure. Schneider is worth far more than just Gagner. The Canucks would never do that trade -- it's laughable. How about Raymond and Ballard for Eberle? That's almost as fair, right? |

Depends on the player, yes. Trust me, I live in London so I see Carter, Perry, Kadri, Schremp, Prust etc. all the time. They list Kadri at 188, he is lucky if he is 160 (maybe bigger now since he is working out with Roberts).
I am 6' weigh 160lbs work out every day and have 8% body fat and I look like a beast next to Kadri & Ganger - jsam7
So you're really 5' 8" and weigh 148! |

What do you guys think of pursuing Marleau. He could be a good Veteran fit. Brings exp and can do it all. Hes got good size. Move either Gagner in a package or Hemsky in a package. SJ seems like they gotta make some changes.
Hall Marleau Gagner
PRV Nuge Eb's
That looks sexy to me. PRV just there to see if he can get it going. - poisondhearts37

the PRV and Gagner for Leopold and Enroth seems like the dummest trade, luckily Ek mentioned it so it won't come to fruition. Why would the oilers trade 2 of their top 9 forwards for a #5 dman and a goalie who could play 30 games this year?
imagine Horcoff being our second line center again - Oil_Addict
did i just read a "top 9" refrence |

That's nowhere even close in market value. At least Gagner for Schneider filled holes had the potential to help both teams.
Eberle is a young, top-6 RW with solid defensive acumen. Raymond is a 25 year old one time 25-goal scorer who has gone through injury troubles of late. Ballard, at this point in time, has value as a 5/6 dman. We're pretty sure that he can play better than that outside of AV's system, but his play of late can't prove that. Considering that Eberle fills a need on your team (natural playmaking RW for Kesler) and that neither Raymond nor Ballard fill a need on our team, you should realize how much worse of a suggestion it is than Gagner for Schneider.
You're exaggerating in an attempt to get reactions. Please stop. |

Actually, I'm exaggerating to show how stupid Gagner for Scneider would be for the Canucks. A first string/potential franchise goalie for a third liner (on the Canucks)?
And no, sorry I won't stop until the Oilers take Luongo for Eberle and a first! |

I said Van fans to get you riled up...truth is its Van, Calgary, TO, Montreal etc...that keep saying he is too small and skinny. Anyone that watched him play knows he is like Datsyuk...try as you might you cant seem to hit him. |

Then again, it's not so much what he IS worth, but what he's worth to the organization. In this situation, I guess I can understand the overvaluing. With Luongo on the way out, and no direct help past Schneids, his value is ten-folded to the 'Nucks organization. To other teams, though, he likely has just a tad more value than Dubnyk.

wow! now your stretching me! he just had a career year with 47 points and 18 goals. during a contract year. 17 points came in 4 games. 8 points coming in 1 night 4g/4a. 44 games without a point. nothing like datsyuk |

to say top 6 makes sense because then there is a bottom 6. this whole top 9 idea angers and infuriates me - joshs
Well not every team operates that way. The Flyers for example most definitely have a top 9. They have 3 lines that are very balanced and then a 4th line that could be some teams 3rd lines.
But even then, its not like you can't still use "top six" and "bottom six" to describe teams like the Flyers. Their just terms at the end of the day. |
