No question Van wouldn't do it. I found it a humourous Cloutierism is all. And I'd rather have the cap freedom that not having Lou grants us
- Morris

Lou would get you guys to the playoffs. That valueable exp to gain for young kids. Hes a better option than any goalie in your pipeline. Just saying. His cap hit isnt bad. Long yes. But not bad. If they were to offer Lou for Gagner you would almost have to take it and run. Im not even a fan Lou. But he is still a good goalie.

He is, but he's still just a #4 at best. If Whitney isn't playing that number 1 role he did a few years back it really trickles down the whole lineup.
- Lahey

Schultz Sr. seems like a perfect #5 dman, anything more though seems like a stretch

Why trade Gagner or PRV for those kinds of trades? It's a terrible misuse of assets.

Gagner for Schneider on the other hand (which Clouts said he WOULDN'T do...)

- Morris

The Schultz for Gilbert trade still boggles my mind.

You guys should make an offer to Spacek. Hes solid 2way defender. Why trade PRV or Gagner when you can sign someone to get you guys to next summer then see where Klefbom is with another year in SEL. There are Dman options out there to get this team through a year of developing the Dman you have already Drafted.
- poisondhearts37

Him or Rozsival would be a good stop gap for sure. The oilers also have about 4 solid prospects coming up other klefbom. Im sure at least one of them should be good to go for next year. If not start packaging them up with other players in trades if there not in your plans. Which one would think if there looking at younger Dmen.

So do we knock 10 pounds off every player then? Or just the 'small' ones? Silly!
- Al Hacker

Depends on the player, yes. Trust me, I live in London so I see Carter, Perry, Kadri, Schremp, Prust etc. all the time. They list Kadri at 188, he is lucky if he is 160 (maybe bigger now since he is working out with Roberts).

I am 6' weigh 160lbs work out every day and have 8% body fat and I look like a beast next to Kadri & Ganger

Ideally we would've got Schultz and kept Gilbert, but we really needed a defense first guy.

Whitney should be much better this year with a full summer to hit the gym. A pairing of n. schultz and whitney is not bad. The problem isnt that the oilers dont have good D. Its that they dont have elite or top pairing D. That SHOULD change with klefbom and j schultz. Its just a waiting game is all. With both of them being a bit older it could be quicker than most think.

I've heard the Sabres have soured somewhat on forward Joel Arima, and he'd fit what the Oilers are looking to add (big wingers). Of course, what makes no sense about this deal suggestion is that the Sabres already have two smurfs at center (Cody Hodgson and Tyler Ennis...although Ennis is listed as a LW on the Sabres website)

Honestly if you run into some of these guys you can tell they aren't what they are listed at, but what they really are who knows.

What I do know is you can be 5'10 190 and be a physical player who can dish it out. Or you could be 6'4 250lbs and shy away from contact.

Gagner doesn't shy away from contact, but he isn't going to over power many in the league.

- Lahey

That is very true, but big bodies just wear out the other team over time. Especially in playoff series.

Maybe you should work at the Carnival for the summer guessing people's weights, you would make a killing. I am sorry to say but if you are 6' tall and weigh only 160lbs you are a skinny scrawny lil rail with little to no muscle on your body, where do you work out at everyday? Curves? If you are a woman than i apologize, you have a very nice figure madam. If you look like a beast at 6' and 160 next to kadri and Gagner, then i look super tanned standing next to Wesley Snipes. You are walking around on a chicken, and these guys have been playing at a high level of pro hockey for many years. Ever stop to think they may have a lot of weight from the hips down???

I was saying Clouts wouldn't do it, and that that's bonkers. Any GM lucky enough to be offered that takes in a runs.

And as far as lou goes, you're probably right there as well. It just puts a whole lot of economic stress on getting the kids re-signed, and realistically probably means selling off one of them/ definitely Pajaarvi or any other prospect that surprises.

What do you guys think of pursuing Marleau. He could be a good Veteran fit. Brings exp and can do it all. Hes got good size. Move either Gagner in a package or Hemsky in a package. SJ seems like they gotta make some changes.

Hall Marleau Gagner
PRV Nuge Eb's

That looks sexy to me. PRV just there to see if he can get it going.

The problem is Whitney could stub his foot on the end of his bed while pounding his wife and be back to square one. Or something more likely like a puck to the foot.

I don't believe you when you say the Sabres have "soured on Armia". Not one bit. He was one of the more impressive rookies at camp last month. Has a hell of a release and shot, and has good size and speed.

So, to the contrary Clouts, I've heard the Sabres are HIGH on Armia.

Hahaha for one I could weigh 190 easily with 15 or so % body fat. I prefer to be ripped instead of eating mcdonald's every day. I can bench 280, I am good thanks. I am sure you talk about your days of when you were an athlete and moan to get some more cheetos.

But you are very correct, their legs are big. They are very strong from the waist down, and are prime athletes. In fact they are also nice people as they will have a beer with you. You make it sound like I am degrading their abilities and commitment by how much they weigh. And truth be told, I am very good at guessing people's weight, so I should take up your advice on joining a carnival. Thanks homie.

McNabb is highly valued by Darcy Regier. I doubt they would be willing to move him. I think they would be willing to move Leopold, but I really don;t think any of this trade talk is valid anyways.
- Sabretooter

Not to mention, McNabb has the tools to become "Shea Weber lite".

I am not trading him for another inconsistent Smurf (Gagne) and a kid that may end up getting as lost (buried) on the Sabres as he did on the Oilers (Paajarvi).

Unless we are using Gagne as part of a package to pry Bobby Ryan away from Anaheim, just say "No way to Gagne".
